As an intern at Rabo Investments – Ventures, you will work on venture capital investment decisions with real impact and long-term value. This is your opportunity to develop your critical thinking and investment skills in a dynamic venture capital environment. As a Rabo Investments Ventures Intern, you will be part of a multidisciplinary investment organisation of over 50 professionals and work specifically within the Ventures (Venture Capital) team.
The Ventures team focuses on minority equity investments in innovative, fast-growing start-ups that contribute to Rabobank’s strategic transitions, such as sustainable food systems, energy transition, financial inclusion and overall tech innovation in relevant sectors.
In this role, you will gain hands-on exposure to the full venture capital investment process, from sourcing and analysis to decision-making and portfolio monitoring.
- Sourcing and assessing new venture capital investment opportunities (market, business and team analyses).
- Conducting market and sector research and identifying emerging trends.
- Building and analysing financial and strategic models for start- and scale-ups.
- Contributing to investment memos and preparing management and investment meetings.
- Monitoring and analysing venture portfolio companies.
- Supporting strategic projects, such as ESG and impact integration within venture investments.
During this internship, you will develop:
- A strong understanding of venture capital investing and early/growth-stage business models.
- Analytical skills focused on markets, start-ups, scaling strategies and long-term value creation.
- In-depth insight into venture investment processes, from initial screening to deal execution.
- A professional network within venture capital, innovation, private equity and strategy.

- Working hours: 40 hours per week
- Compensation: A competitive internship allowance
- Master’s student in Finance, Business Administration, Econometrics, Technology or a related field (e.g. Food & Agri, Sustainability, Engineering, Energy or Data).
- Strong interest in venture capital, start-ups and scale-ups.
- Analytical, proactive and well-structured.
- A team player who is eager to learn, actively seeks feedback and takes ownership.
- Eager to learn and open to feedback.
