In this position you play an essential role as Product Owner within the CFO Data Foundation Tribe in Rabobank, thus contributing to the strategic finance and risk data and regulatory compliance agenda of the bank.

About Tribe Data Foundation

The mission of Tribe Data foundation (TDF) is to deliver trusted data for consumers of risk and finance products and services, enabling client journeys and regulatory adherence  (Internal and external reporting). TDF processes and provides trusted data products on a daily basis, leveraging the power of among other things our single platform GFRD (Group Finance and Risk Datawarehouse), applying industry strength controls and technology delivered by engaged people with future proof skills.

TDF aims at reducing business and technology complexity in close collaboration across the value chain while investing in the knowledge and skills of our teams. Tribe Data Foundation is organised in a number of Areas and a Tribe Support function. It is, like all tribes in Rabobank, a combination of different chapters, namely CFO CPO Product Management, CFO Data, CITO Tech and CITO Architecture. The chapter structure brings together the functions and capabilities required to run and improve the processes and technology under responsibility of the tribe.

About the job

As a Product Owner, you will work together with other Product Owners, Solution Architects, Scrum Masters, IT lead and OPS/DEV (Operations/Developers) engineers and business analysts (BA) that together shape a diverse and engaging working environment. While we put our service consumer front and centre, we also actively collaborate with one another through nourishing a culture that embraces openness and growth.

You will lead 2 squads to successfully deliver on their purpose, empower them providing clear direction, setting clear priorities and removing impediments:

  • DQMS (Data Quality Monitoring Solution) squad is responsible for develop rules that provide data stewards with insight into the extent to which the established data quality requirements are being met.
  • DQRS (Data Quality Reporting Solution) squad drives the visualization of data quality check results and proactively maintains and enhances various dashboards, including the GDQD (Global Data Quality Dashboard).

Both squads consist of approx. 9 FTE (OPS/DEV and BA). You are responsible for managing and aligning a diverse and bank wide group of stakeholders across both squads, providing clear and consistent communication to effectively manage expectations and dependencies.

Top of mind responsibilities

  • Together with the Area Lead set and execute the product vision & strategy for the area and ensure that your contribution enables other areas in the tribe to also execute their product vision and strategy. Follow the tribes way of working and synchronise with the Tribe’s vision.
  • Translate the vision into an operational planning with a 1 to 1.5 year horizon. Owning and maintaining the squad backlog and determine the priority setting across the product management/business, technology, architecture and data chapters.
  • Developing and maintaining data quality rules and data selections to ensure transparency and compliance with data quality requirements.
  • Providing insight into data quality outcomes by actively driving the visualization of results for data stewards and stakeholders.
  • Owning and continuously improving data quality dashboards, including the GDQD (Global Data Quality Dashboard).
  • Leading and coordinating the cloud migration for both squads, ensuring continuity, quality, and alignment throughout the transition.
  • Keeping all systems safe and secure by implementing all IT in control items.
  • Drive together with the Scrum Master(s) the adoption of the Simplify@Scale way of working in your Squads.

You and your talent

  • HBO / WO thinking and / or education level.
  • Experience in complex environments in different positions and leading multiple technical platform teams (from NL and outsource).
  • A proven track record and 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager in complex agile / Scrum environments
  • Sound knowledge of and experience with data warehouses and/or data lakes, life cycle management release management, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, monitoring and operational run activities.
  • Knowledge of finance and risk domain, preferably with data management experience in those domains.
  • Proven track record with execution power and stakeholder management; being able to act in politically sensitive environments, with different stakeholders at different levels.
  • Knowledge of regulations and impact on processes and systems, preferably in the finance and risk domain.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral, written and presentation to explain complex or technical issues for a broad audience.
  • Experience with working Simplify@Scale or another scaled agile framework.
  • Track record of strategic thinking, acting and implementation.

Note: You must be located in the Netherlands, re-location is not possible for this role.
