As a Container Platform DevOps Engineer in the area Engineering Platforms, part of the Tribe Tech4Engineering, you will participate in shaping the future of our Container Platform. You will be part of a (new) team that builds a new Container Platform on top of Azure (AKS).


You and your role

Design, build, and operate a modern Azure AKS container platform, collaborating across IT and business to deliver secure, reliable financial services as a Container Platform DevOps Engineer, including upgrades, automation, fault resolution, and continuous innovation.


As part of a DevOps team you will be developing, maintaining and support the best Container platform environment, performing version upgrades, undertaking fault prevention and resolution, roadmap implementations and specialist product advice. IT never stands still and with new technologies and integrations being introduced, innovation and research will be part of the role. As a DevOps Engineer you make an impact on the way our customers perceive the services we deliver at Rabobank. You make it possible to give our customers a 9+ experience.


Tech4Engineering

Tech4Engineering's mission is to minimize the cognitive load of our engineers throughout the bank. You contribute by implementing and operationalizing the container platform on Azure/AKS, which will be the standard of all containerized application in AKS. The Tribe Tech4Engineering (as part of Engineering & Enterprise Tech) consists of approximately 500 FTE.

It is necessary, among other things, to have a strong focus on self-service, enabling our consuming DevOps teams to operate with full autonomy. This is complex to realize in times of reorganization and pressure to get the environment operational. The impact of this change affects processes, team structure and the way in which employees within the tribe perform their work.

The role also includes driving platform standardization, improving security and compliance, introducing new cloud-native capabilities, and continuously reducing developer cognitive load by simplifying platform usage, automation, and documentation across engineering teams.

  • Ensure that the platform is easy to use, thus encouraging adoption across the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and know how to separate main and side issues;
  • Strong expertise in containerization, particularly with AKS, ACS, Docker, and Kubernetes (K8S).
  • Advanced Azure experience, covering storage, networking, IAM, serverless, and related services.
  • Proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • In-depth understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, ArgoCD, and DevOps practices.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Certifications in Azure or Kubernetes are preferred but not required.
