You shape and deliver the foundations of a self-service Insights Platform used by thousands of colleagues across Financial Economic Crime, enabling faster, more reliable insights at scale.

You & your role

Build and lead a new engineering capability by designing and delivering a scalable Insights Platform that enables trusted data products and reusable metrics across Financial Economic Crime. As Lead Data Engineer Insights Platform, you work in a greenfield environment where you define standards, architecture, and ways of working while enabling teams to deliver production-grade insights.

  • Designing and implementing robust data pipelines and contracts for reusable insights across multiple domains.
  • Setting up platform infrastructure with governance, reliability, and quality controls embedded from day one.
  • Leading a new engineering team and coaching engineers to deliver secure, production-ready data solutions.

  • Drive engineering leadership by setting technical direction, ensuring high-quality delivery, and balancing speed with production-grade standards across the platform.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams and architects to translate user needs into scalable, future-proof platform solutions.
  • Enable teams by mentoring engineers, improving technical maturity, and fostering a culture of reliability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

You lead the technical evolution of the Insights Platform, focusing on scalability, governance, and reusability. You ensure teams can independently create, share, and consume trusted insights while preparing the platform for advanced analytics and artificial intelligence capabilities.

You & your talent
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in e.g. computer sciences.
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer in a complex IT landscape.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a leading position in a similar environment.
  • Experience in or affinity with software development in the financial sector, the payment sector in particular is preferable.
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Agile mindset and experience in working agile/scrum teams.
  • Experienced in working with, SQL and developing ETL solutions.
  • Experienced in working with Azure data platform. For example ADF, Databricks, Synapse, Azure DevOps.
  • Experienced in testing pipelines which are built on Azure with system and regression tests.
  • Experienced with OPS work like monitoring and solving incidents.
  • Knowledge of Apache Airflow.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and data management is preferable.
  • Knowledge of Python Spark is preferable.
  • Knowledge of client and payments data is preferable.
