• Salary: Gross monthly salary between EUR 4,931 and EUR 7,043 (scale 09) for a 36-hour work week.

Ensure reliable, secure and high‑quality customer communication for over 6 million app users by embedding quality deeply into engineering and delivery.

Drive quality as a strategic engineering discipline within a high‑performance Scrum team. You define quality goals, translate them into hands‑on testing and automation, and help engineers build testable, resilient systems. As Java Quality Engineer, your work directly impacts critical communication journeys used daily by millions of Rabobank customers.

• Define risk‑based test strategies that shift quality left across microservices.
• Enable teams to improve observability and testability of Java applications.
• Safeguard customer communication flows by preventing defects before production.

• 36 hours per week
• Working on systems used by over 6 million customers in the Rabo App
• 9.5 million customers worldwide  

• Facilitate and maintain automated testing across integration, component, API, performance and end‑to‑end layers, ensuring consistent quality feedback loops.
• Strengthen production reliability by implementing monitoring strategies using logs, metrics and alerts across live applications.
• Embed security and compliance by co‑creating security designs, identifying risks early, and promoting security‑by‑design principles.

You work within the Customer Engagement domain, collaborating with product owners, business analysts and engineers in Scrum teams that build and maintain essential customer communication platforms. Your role focuses on quality leadership rather than feature delivery.

• 5+ years of experience testing Java‑based microservices exposed via HTTP APIs
• 3+ years hands‑on experience with automated testing using JUnit, Cucumber and JMeter
• Proven experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Strong communicator who explains risks clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Quality‑driven mindset with ownership for end‑to‑end system reliability
• Analytical thinker who understands functional and non‑functional requirements
• Comfortable coaching teams on testability and observability
• Experience applying security‑by‑design principles in engineering teams
• Structured, proactive and collaborative in a Scrum environment
