Build scalable metadata solutions that support automated lineage for 40 hours per week, helping thousands of engineers worldwide trust and understand enterprise data flows.

You & your role

Build and scale Rabobank’s Enterprise Data Lineage capability as a Data Platform Engineer. You develop automated, cloud-native metadata ingestion using OpenLineage standards and enable engineering teams to integrate reliable, standardized technical metadata across platforms in a complex international banking environment.

Examples from practice
  • Scale the OpenLineage implementation by integrating metadata from applications, data services, and platforms across the analytical landscape.
  • Build and evolve a technical metadata landing zone using open and interoperable metadata formats.
  • Develop automated ingestion, transformation, and validation pipelines to remove manual onboarding for engineering teams.
Facts & figures
  • 36 or 40 hours per week.
  • Over 49,000 Rabobank colleagues worldwide.
Top 3 responsibilities
  • Build scalable ingestion pipelines and reusable connectors that support automated technical metadata capture across multiple platforms and environments.
  • Enable internal engineering teams with tooling, guidance, and hands-on support to accelerate metadata onboarding and improve lineage quality.
  • Improve observability, resilience, and performance of metadata pipelines to ensure stable operations across enterprise-scale data platforms.

You contribute hands-on to the design and operation of OpenLineage-based metadata solutions, working closely with platform and application teams to strengthen enterprise-wide lineage adoption at scale.

Together we achieve more than alone

We believe in the power of differences. By combining people’s differences, we become an even better bank. We are curious about what you will bring to our team at Rabobank.

Collaboration is our way of working; as one data-minded team within Rabobank.

Work on yourself & the world around you

For us, your development and that of society go hand in hand. That is why we want to invest in you and work together to create a better world. We summarize this in one sentence: “at Rabobank, you work on yourself and the world around you simultaneously.”

This is reflected in your personal development budget, our hybrid work environment, and a good work-life balance. You work on banking solutions for our clients and on social challenges such as the food and energy transitions.
