Tech Domain Manager Financing Journey
Overview of position
Are you ready to shape the future of technology for Wholesale & Rural Banking? As Tech Domain Manager within the Financing Journey Tribe, you will play a pivotal role in driving Rabobank’s global technology strategy for our lending business, ensuring alignment across regions and enabling scalable solutions worldwide. This newly created position reflects our ambition to strengthen technology leadership within Wholesale & Rural Tech and aligns with Rabobank’s global priorities for operational excellence, compliance, and innovation
You will lead a large domain of 600+ professionals, consisting of internal employees, external partners, and contractors spread across multiple locations globally. The Financing Journey Tribe is set up to optimally support client and employee journeys in the area of Lending with digital solutions. Our tribe is divided into: Two Journey Areas (Acquisition & Relationships and Origination & Assessments), two Product Areas (Core Lending & Project Finance and Value Chain & Trade Finance) and two Foundational Areas (Flexcube Foundation Services Area and Data Capabilities). You will manage a substantial multi-million-euro budget.
Reporting directly to the Head of Wholesale & Rural Tech, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence at the highest levels of the organization, ensuring stability, security, and scalability while enabling innovation at speed.
You and your job
As Tech Domain Manager Financing Journey, you will:
- Translate enterprise ambitions into actionable technology outcomes through a multi-year roadmap that spans multiple geographies.
- Drive platform consolidation, data modernization, and compliance-by-design principles.
- Lead strategic vendor partnerships and optimize sourcing strategies across nearshore and offshore models and global delivery centres to maximize efficiency and innovation
- Foster a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across global business units, balancing regional priorities with enterprise-wide technology opportunities
Responsibilities
Your mandate will include the following:
- Shape and execute the IT vision and roadmap for the Financing Journey domain, while enabling regional flexibility. Ensure system stability, security, and compliance across platforms and processes.
- Oversee portfolio delivery, accelerating velocity and predictability through agile practices.
- Manage strategic resource planning and vendor governance to ensure scalability and cost-efficiency.
- Drive operational excellence and cost optimization by reducing redundancies and functional overlap.
- Champion innovation through automation, AI, and emerging technologies.
- Build internal capabilities and lead cultural transformation, embedding agile ways of working.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders across business, architecture, and IT.
- Drive cross-border initiatives to harmonize processes and accelerate global delivery.
- Ensure robust risk management and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
- Lead by example, cultivating an inclusive and high-performance environment.

You and your talent
- Academic degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 13–15 years’ relevant managerial experience within complex, global organizations.
- Broad and strategic understanding of technology landscapes, enterprise architecture, and digital transformation principles.
- Proven track record in shaping IT strategy and delivering transformation programs impacting multiple domains.
- Strong affinity for Financing products, ideally complemented by experience in lending-related processes, enabling you to translate business needs into impactful technology solutions. Experience managing large-scale organizations and significant budgets .
- Strong influencing and communication skills at executive level, with ability to navigate conflicting interests.
- Deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, API-driven integration, and automation at scale.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance-by-design principles.
- Demonstrated success in vendor governance and sourcing strategy.
- Skilled in Agile and Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodologies.

- Salary Scale EKI: € 180.665,28 to € 239.083,92 (annual total fixed income)
