As a TM Scenario Expert, you help Rabobank proactively protect its customers, society, and itself against money laundering and terrorism financing by developing and improving Transaction Monitoring detection rules. You will work with 43,822 Rabobank colleagues worldwide.
Preventing financial economic crime (FEC) is a key priority for both our society and our organization, and as a bank, we play a major role in this field. As a TM Scenario Expert, you will help combat FEC by designing and continuously improving transaction monitoring (TM) rules based on identified typologies, leveraging your deep understanding and awareness of money laundering and terrorist financing (ML/TF) risks.
As a TM Scenario Expert, you are part of the TM Control Standards department within the Transaction Monitoring pillar of the Financial Economic Crime organization. You will work in a dynamic, innovative environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary squads and internal stakeholders. As part of this role, you break down regulatory requirements, ML/TF typologies and operational challenges into clear, actionable components, enabling effective TM rule design. You play a pivotal role in developing detection rules that protect our customers and our organization.
- Lead the design and development of TM rules that generate alerts for suspicious patterns or behaviours, leveraging your expertise in ML/TF risks and typologies.
- Continuously optimise and enhance TM rules in collaboration with data scientists, leverage data-driven insights to address emerging risks and adapt to regulatory changes effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FEC Technology, TM Operations, and Compliance to ensure successful implementation and alignment of TM rules with organization objectives.
- 36 hours per week.

- Develop and refine TM detection rules by applying expert knowledge of ML/TF risks to ensure effective risk coverage and compliance.
- Analyse complex TM issues independently or collaboratively, substantiating insights with data and engaging stakeholders.
- Facilitate decision-making in TM rule design, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organisational objectives.
You will work in a multidisciplinary squad, translating regulatory trends and developments into new scenarios for transaction monitoring.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- 5+ years relevant experience in the financial industry, demonstrating knowledge of money laundering and terrorism finance. Hands-on experience in transaction monitoring is a plus.
- Knowledge of national and/or international AML/CTF laws and regulations and knowledge of the banking domain, financial products and services.
- Tech-savvy mindset and the strong ability to translate data insights into actionable transaction monitoring solutions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to stimulate collaboration and thinking outside the box.
- Proactive ownership combined with flexibility in evolving circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills in English.
