Accelerate Europe’s energy transition and digital transformation by originating, structuring, and closing innovative, high-value project finance transactions.
You will shape the European energy transition and digital transformation by delivering high‑impact financings. As an Associate (Director) you will be part of a collaborative team and work on a diverse scope of deals across Western Europe; think onshore wind in Ireland, batteries in the UK, electric trains in France, solar in Italy, datacentres in Germany or sustainable heating and geothermal in the Netherlands. You will have regular client contact with top‑tier infrastructure investment funds, project developers, independent power producers and utilities operating across Europe. Transaction sizes range from tens of millions to a few billion EUR investments and are characterised by a high degree of complexity, enabling you to use your creativity and analytical skills.

Top 3 responsibilities
- Contribute to the origination, structuring and execution of complex project finance transactions, where we expect you to lead workstreams across the entire deal process (Associate) or lead multiple workstreams and have more responsibility for the complete credit process (Associate Director), ensuring compliance with Rabobank's corporate standards throughout.
- Collaborate closely with Project Finance Europe colleagues across varying deal teams, with various other departments within Rabobank and of course with our clients (incl. travel within the Netherlands and Europe).
- Contribute proactively to internal working groups to e.g. monitor market developments and continuously improve the organization and development of the department.

- For Associate: 3+ years demonstrable experience in structuring and executing project financing transactions, preferably across Western Europe.
- For Associate Director: 5+ years demonstrable experience in structuring and executing project financing transactions, preferably across Western Europe.
- Commercial drive and a cooperative, can‑do attitude.
- Solid analytical skills, strong risk awareness, solution‑oriented.
- Strong knowledge of project due diligence.
- Experience with financial modelling, (credit) risk analysis, and legal documentation.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written; Dutch language skills would be beneficial.
We are currently hiring for two roles: Associate and Associate Director. These roles share many responsibilities and offer similar exposure to complex project finance transactions. The key differences lie in the level of responsibility and leadership:
- Associates typically lead workstreams across several deal processes and are graded in scale 9.
- Associate Directors lead multiple workstreams and up to entire credit processes, and are graded in scale 10.
