As a Junior Java DevOps Engineer in our Integration Area, you’ll help build and support services that exchange billions of data records between systems across the globe. This is your chance to grow your skills in a dynamic, cloud-first environment while making a real impact.
Imagine being part of a team that powers global data exchange at Rabobank. In Squad Orca, you’ll work alongside a Product Owner, Scrum Master, fellow DevOps Engineers, and a Solution Architect to develop and maintain integration features using modern technologies and agile practices.
We specialize in building “bridges” that connect applications across different platforms—especially between on-premises and cloud environments. Our work enables teams to move forward in their cloud journey while maintaining critical integrations.
We focus on:
- File Transfer Bridges: Handling custom logic and non-standard protocols for special transfer requests.
- Event Bridges: Connecting on-prem MQ systems with cloud apps using events or APIs.
- API Bridges: Creating custom integrations between APIs.
- 24/7 Support: Participating in a rotating on-call schedule to ensure high availability.
- We use Red Hat® OpenShift® for containerized bridge integrations.
- We're transitioning towards a self-service integration platform.
- We encourage bottom-up decision-making, giving engineers and architects a voice in shaping our solutions.
- Program duration: 18 months
- Working hours: 40 hours per week
- Starting date: 1st of October
This 18-month program is designed to help you grow – professionally and personally. You’ll start in a junior role within a team, take part in workshops and training sessions, and gain hands-on experience from day one. There’s plenty of room for creativity and initiative, and you’ll be encouraged to co-create events, learning moments, and knowledge-sharing sessions. You’ll build a strong network and develop skills that will benefit you throughout your career.
In the Early Career Program IT, you’ll focus on personal leadership, sustainability, and understanding the banking world. You’ll choose an IT track that suits your interests and work closely with your team. Weekly sessions with other starters offer inspiration, connection, and shared learning. Through real business challenges, you’ll explore different parts of the bank and discover where you can make the most impact.
