Imagine working in a team that contributes to the growth and strategy of Rabobank EAA by supporting the activities of the region with high-quality legal expertise together with effective legal risk management for the bank. Your role would involve working with the business to analyse and develop products and services, provide legal advice and support on transactions, identify and address the associated (legal) risks and issues, and share your knowledge with colleagues over a broad range of business and staff departments. Are you curious about what would be on your to-do list on an average working day? Your day-to-day activities may include:

• Keeping control of the legal risks and legal framework for the bank with respect to financing structures;
• Being a sparring partner for your fellow team members and colleagues in various business departments, both within Region Europe, Africa & Asia and beyond;
• Participating in initiatives that are critical to the smooth running of the team;
• Accurately and timely identifying potential issues and risks;
• Drafting legal documentation;
• Coordinating, negotiating and overseeing transactions;
• Keeping up with the latest legal developments and applying it in daily practice; and
• Cooperating with colleagues from different disciplines (e.g. Compliance and Risk) throughout the bank.

Your primary focus is expected to be to deliver transaction support in lending/financing transactions (e.g. Corporate Lending, Leveraged Lending and/or Specialised Lending but also beyond as required).

The EAA team currently consists of around 30 lawyers, each with their unique background and offering. We encourage our legal counsel to broaden horizons through secondments across the teams.

Customer focus, pro-activeness, organizational sensitivity and decisiveness are essential for this position. We are also looking for the following skills and experience:

• Preference for a Dutch or English law qualified lawyer;
• At least 8 years’ experience advising on Corporate Lending, Leveraged Lending and/or Specialised Lending transactions;
• Extensive experience reviewing and negotiating LMA-based investment grade and leveraged lending facility agreements and intercreditor agreements;
• Strong drafting skills, including the ability to prepare and negotiate bilateral facility agreements using inhouse templates;
• Desire to mentor and develop more junior members of the team; and
• Excellent command of the English language.
