We are looking for a Splunk Monitoring Specialist to join our dynamic IT4IT team, responsible for making life easier for approx. 95 DevOps teams in tribes Digital Customer Interactions and Customer Journey Insurance & Pensions.
You and your job
As a Splunk Monitoring Specialist, you’ll be part of The Accelerators squad, the squad is responsible for IT4IT consultancy and innovative solutions for complex IT challenges across the DevOps lifecycle. Specifically, your role involves support squads with their monitoring needs in Splunk. You will work together on Monitoring as Code, a monitoring automation solution for customer squads within Rabobank. You will work with users to figure out the best way to meet their monitoring needs. This means that you are not only passionate about creating great solutions, but also about the value that their users get from them!

As a DevOps squad we don’t have a fixed set of responsibilities. Together, as a team, we take responsibility for the full DevOps lifecycle. This includes operation, monitoring, logging, and alerting. We follow the principle: you build it, you run it! We're looking for a candidate who has got the technical experience related to our tech stack and who can bring our software development to the next level.
Our tech stack
A monitoring specialist in our IT4IT team has advanced experience with Splunk Enterprise, as you will be developing dashboarding and alerting in conjunction with the team and our customers. Furthermore, you should have strong knowledge of (Azure) DevOps way of working, including CI/CD principles. Familiarity with Python and the ability to work with REST APIs for seamless system integrations is a plus.
Experience with monitoring solutions such as StackState, Dynatrace, and Azure & AWS Monitoring is also a plus.
Additionally, we prefer for engineers within our IT4IT team to have experience with cloud services (Azure and AWS), and following Cloud Native principles like IaC (infrastructure as code). However, this is not a pre.
You and your talent
- 3+ years or more working experience as Splunk (monitoring) engineer in a complex IT landscape
- You are fluent in English, fluency in Dutch is a bonus
- You take ownership from design to production and operations (DevOps mindset)
- Experience in or affinity with software development in the financial sector is a bonus
- You have great analytical and problem-solving skills
- You have very good communication and cooperation skills
- You have an agile mindset and experience in working agile/scrum
- You have an open mindset to explore new technologies to solve business problems
To be considered for this position, you must be located in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the EU and have the legal right to work in the Netherlands. We are unable to consider candidates requiring relocation from another country.
This is what we offer you
- A gross monthly salary up to € 5.300,48 (scale 8)
- Thirteenth (13th) month's salary and (8%) holiday allowance;
- An Employee Benefit Budget of (10%) of your gross monthly salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or receive a monthly cash pay-out.
- A personal budget of €1.400 that you can spend on activities related to your personal development and career.
- Flexibility when it comes to location-independent working (Tuesday is the area-day for area IT 4 Ops & Foundation at Croeselaan, other days at the office are aligned with your team), including a working from home allowance and the option to order office furniture for your home.
