You and your job
As a Business Controller Retail Tech NL  you play an essential role in helping to improve the performance of the CITO and the Retail NL domain. You will be responsible for one or more departments within CITO Retail Tech NL.  CITO is responsible for all tech en data  of the Rabobank. CITO’s ambition is to assure Rabobank to be a rock-solid and innovative technology-driven cooperative bank. Rock-solid means running the bank of today stable, secure, and at the right cost level. Innovative applies to the responsibility to drive the innovation and (digital)transformation agenda of the bank with state-of-the-art technology and data & analytics capabilities.

As a business controller you are continuously looking for opportunities to improve the performance. Next to that CFO&CITO are  always committed to deliver transparency on the IT Cost and IT Value and to increase to influenceability accordingly. As a controller you work with the management team of Retail Tech NL, the leadership of Retail Value streams and the other CITO Control colleagues.

Your proactive and forward-looking analysis leads to new decision making enabling significant improvement in business results. You achieve this by providing new insights as Business Controller and acting as sparring partner with various stakeholders. Challenge when necessary and contribute with impact! As a Business Controller at Rabobank, you play a pivotal role in the core of the technical hart of the bank.

• Organizing and coordinating financial management cycle (MTP process)
• Challenging (senior) management on strategic choices and delivery
• Professional Collaboration with Retail NL tribes
• Supporting management in performance steering of domains within Retail NL
• Financial and management accounting
• Help to increase transparency and influenceability of the Tech Costs of the bank

Top 3 responsibilities

• Acting as a trusted advisor for the head of one or more tech departments on (non)-financial topics.
• Steering and coordinating business control activities for the Retail Tech NL department, such as financial and management accounting, organizing and coordinating financial management cycle (within boundaries of MTP process), challenging senior management in strategic decision making, advising business and supporting management in (financial) steering of domain.
• Help prioritize operational activities between the various Retail NL teams via meaningful insights to balance business, Tech and Risk priorities to optimize cost-benefit for the bank.

As Chief Value Officers (CVOs) we team up to add value to the bank. By putting data in perspective and providing guidance on the strategic direction, CVOs ensure that Rabobank remains a rock solid bank. We do this by executing our High Tech - High Touch strategy. We use tech to optimize processes and use data to provide actionable insights. We use our human touch to tell the story behind the numbers. We collaborate to contribute to our mission of Growing a better world together.

Furthermore, you will provide analyses, benchmarking, scenario analyses etc. to deliver insights and robust challenge that drive the strategy, business decisions and In Control-process. The team is also responsible for controlling the execution of initiatives and projects, the performance on the KPIs and the control of the usage of resources such as costs and capital. Lastly the team supports the business in developing new technical opportunities like Gen AI.

You and your talent

Customer focus, communication power, personal development and realizing results are clearly essential for the role of Business Controller in the CITO domain. In addition, it's important that you recognize yourself in the checklist below: 

• You have a HBO + / WO diploma with a numerical or strategic focus;  
• You are an expert in finance and control (s.a. Basel IV and IFRS 9) and understand the impact of legislation on the business;
• You are a sparring partner on financial and strategic matters, you are open and transparent, able to challenge the business and supporting units to reach Rabobank’s goals and results;
• You love to work with Tech people and understand they way of working of a Tech division.
• You are able to solve complexities, review reports and provide feedback;
• You combine an excellent analytical skill set with good social and communication skills;
• You are result orientated and have stakeholder focus;
• Proven track record of consistently reviewing and improving the Tech delivery to maximise the banks rock solid ambitions.
• Proven track record with execution power, the S@S way of working, steering on operational excellence and inspirational leadership. 
• You have a high level of “learning agility”; the agility to convert new situations and changes into effective behaviour;
• You are an independently operating professional who works well together and is always looking for opportunities for improvement.
• Proficiency in the Dutch and English language, spoken and written.

This is what we offer you

• a gross salary between € 5,115.32 and € 7,307.58 (scale 10) based on 36 hours and depending on experience
• thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
• an extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out
• a pension scheme to which you contribute 3.5% or 5.5%
