Tech Lead Reporting & Value Chain Services

You work as a Tech Lead within the Reporting & Value Chain Services Area of the Markets & Treasury Tribe within Wholesale & Rural. The purpose of the Markets & Treasury Tribe is to enable our clients and Rabobank with mission-critical solutions to manage risk on industry-leading and cost-competitive technology platforms. The M&T Tribe is one of the three tribes within the W&R domain. 

In your role, you will be responsible for teams providing best in class and efficient technology to underpin all product agnostic operational controls, reporting services and market data services. Together with your colleagues and stakeholders you maintain a positive working culture for these ~50 – 60 professionals and create and execute plans to simplify our landscape and to remain in control and compliant to internal and external rules and regulations.

W&R Tech

W&R Tech is the IT provider for Rabobank Wholesale & Rural. The systems developed and managed by W&R Tech are used globally.

W&R Tech is responsible for the development and management of all IT applications for Markets and Treasury, as well as the corresponding middle-office, back-office departments and Risk Management. W&R Tech ensures that the systems of global Rabobank locations are available 24 hours a day.

Role

The current role is for a Tech Lead within the Reporting & Value Chain Services (RVCS) Area, one of the 6 areas within the Markets & Treasury Tribe.

The RVCS Area offers systems to support operational controls, regulatory reporting and market data activities. Our multidisciplinary squads are geared towards systems a.o. used for Transaction Reporting, Reconciliation and Client Reporting processes. We also provide solutions to integrate systems in our landscape and fill potential gaps in vendor solutions used.

This responsibility stretches from HR management of the people involved, to the continuity (availability, performance, integrity, security risk, compliance) of the IT components. This includes managing the relationship with vendors of systems used in the Area.

The Squads are a fundamental part of the Markets and Treasury Tribe. The Squads will be mandated and work as much as possible in a self-directed way. The role of the Tech Lead is to enable the squads, in Agile terms to remove the impediments and make sure that squads are productive, now and in the foreseeable future.

Profile

As Tech Lead you are experienced in the agile way of working, understand the risk & compliance needs of a bank, and possess a broad interest and opinion on IT trends. You are a self-starter who can take ownership and has the intrinsic motivation to make a positive impact.

The Tech Lead we are looking for is a people- and customer oriented collaborator with a keen eye for IT In Control activities. You create positive impact. In addition, it is important that you have the following characteristics:

  • You have a collaboration mindset;
  • You are pro-active and result driven;
  • Academic level;
  • Sound Judgement and decision making skills and a can-do mentality; 
  • Well able to plan, prioritise and recognise dependencies;
  • Well able to quickly switch between a variety of topics during the day;
  • Experience in software development and management in a banking environment;
  • You have achieved demonstrable results by guiding teams towards autonomy and a high level of performance;
  • Comfortable with a “span of control” of approximately 50-60 employees;
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral;
  • You are fluent in English.
