Working in IT at Rabobank – Credit Analytics

Rabobank is one of the largest IT employers in The Netherlands since banks are heavily dependent on technology.

One of the biggest assets of the bank is the data of its clients. To keep this data and the bank secure, the team needs to have an intrinsic and strong drive to continuously improve the security of our systems, tools, processes, and behavior.

Collaboration lies at the core of our Credit Analytics Tech chapter, which oversees all IT development and operations within the Credit Analytics Tribe. The tribe specializes in developing, implementing, and maintaining credit risk models for various regulatory and business purposes. And while doing this we need to remain in control at all times.

Practical Examples

  • Perform regular risk assessments and audits on our IT systems and processes, identify vulnerabilities, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Organize regular meet-ups, training sessions, and events for our security champions, and provide them with the resources they need to perform their roles effectively.
  • Give advice to the management team of Credit Analytics Tech by providing comprehensive reports, discuss the current IT risk landscape, advise them on potential threats, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Top 3 responsibilities

  • IT Risk Management: Hands-on management of all IT risks in the organization, ensuring that all potential threats are identified, assessed, and mitigated in a timely and effective manner.
  • Community Development: Nurture and grow the community of security champions within the organization, fostering a proactive culture of risk awareness and IT security.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders in the Credit Analytics and Tech domain, to understand their needs and risks, and provide them with guidance that is in line with Rabobank’s standards and policies.

Knowledge and skills

  • Education: A degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are a plus.
  • Experience:  Previous experience in IT risk management, cybersecurity, or a related role. Experience in the banking sector is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT risk management tooling and methodologies. Knowledge of banking IT systems, cybersecurity best practices, data privacy regulations, Cloud Technology (AZ-900) and Agile methodologies on team and organizational level.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex IT risks to a broad spectrum of stakeholder from non-technical to very technical, like developers.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster a sense of community and drive a security-focused culture.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand the big picture, make strategic decisions, and provide valuable advice to the management team.

This is what we offer you

  • a gross monthly salary between € 5.115,- and € 7.307,- (scale 10, 36 hours per week).
  • 13th month and holiday pay: the holiday allowance and annual allowance will usually be paid out in 12 equal monthly instalments. Employees have the option once a year to opt for the holiday allowance to be paid out in May and the annual allowance in December.
  • an Employee Benefit Budget (11% of your monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions, or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out.
  • an annual personal development/training budget of € 1.400,-
  • 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport! Do you still prefer to travel by car or motorbike? Then choose a commuting allowance.
  • a monthly € 40,- net work from home allowance, based on working from home 5 days per week.
  • a monthly € 40,- net internet allowance.
  • Attractive pension fund with a personal contribution of only 5.5%. Rabobank will contribute 21.5%.
