Senior Compliance Model Validator

You and your job

As a Senior Compliance Model Validator, you are part of the Compliance Model Validation team, located in Utrecht, which consists of circa 20 colleagues. You keep oversight on the models that Rabobank uses to protect itself and society against compliance risks such as fraud, money laundering and breaches of sanctions. You will be responsible (and sometimes the lead) for performing independent model validations on several models that the Rabobank Group uses to fulfil its role as a gatekeeper to the financial system – and may take on a leading for this this.

Your main responsibilities

• You can take on a leading role, working with several (Senior) Compliance Model Validators in scoping, planning, and executing the model validations & reviews on a selection of models.
• You will represent Compliance Model Validation towards the stakeholders across all lines of responsibility, including Model Developers, Model Owners, and Compliance. This includes maintaining constructive relationships, presenting our independent opinion, and providing advice at your discretion.
• You will secure and contribute to the timely delivery and overall quality of our deliverables in line with Agile principles.
• You will develop and share an overarching way-of-working for the topics in your area of expertise. You do this while promoting teamwork, building on each other’s strengths, and supporting opportunities to grow.
• You will keep up-to-date on current developments and incorporate these in our way-of-working.

• You've completed an education in the field of science, technology, engineering, and/or Math, such as Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, or Artificial Intelligence. We value a Master’s degree or PhD, but are also open to other degrees
• You have at least 7 years of experience, of which at least 2 in roles that systematically challenge the first line of responsibility such as model validation, compliance monitoring, or audit
• You have affinity with the fight against financial economic crime. Experience with quantitative analysis in this domain is a plus. Prior experience in the development or validation of models used for Transaction Monitoring, Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Filtering, or Name Screening is even more beneficial
• With your experience, you are able to give less experienced colleagues discipline-specific guidance, encouraging them to grow
• You are a self-starter that enjoys solving complex problems cooperatively
• You can build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• You can explain and defend your point of view in English, both verbally and in writing. Fluency in Dutch is  a plus

This is what we offer you

• A monthly salary between 6.100,00 and 8.790,00 gross per month (based on 36 hours) in salary scale 11. Salary will be compared to peers in a similar role
• € 750,00 budget to set up your home workplace and up to € 40,00 for working from home allowance per month
• Personal budget of € 1.400 per year to spend on activities related to your personal development and career
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
• An Employee Benefit Budget (EBB) of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out;
• Flexible working hours and hybrid location-independent working within the limits dictated by working in a team
• 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport
• A pension scheme to which you contribute 5.5%
