Acorn, a new initiative within Rabobank, uses satellite images to measure the farmer's carbon storage and translate this into carbon removal units. This gives the smallholder farmers access to the international carbon market. This is how we are contributing to growing a better world as well as a stronger Rabobank.

You and your job
As Partnerships Manager you are part of the Partnership team of Acorn, focusing on Africa. You know the secrets of building scalable relationships with Local Partners to jointly ensure thousands of smallholder farmers in Africa switch to more sustainable agricultural practises. You will perform a selection on the Local Partners, ensure that farmers and Local Partners are registered on our platform to be able to generate Carbon Removal Units for the farmers. In addition you support Local Partners to scale their operations.

The big picture
Your goal is to work with partners to support 15 million smallholders within 5 years in the transition to agroforestry and onboard them on the Acorn platform to measure, monetize and market the carbon sequestration on behalf of the farmers to increase their income while at the same time removing CO2 from the atmosphere. This is how you share your talent for 40 hours a week as Partnership Manager at Acorn, Rabobank.

You and your talent

• Master’s degree
• >3 years of experience with relationship and/or project management in an international environment
• Working experience in Africa is required
• Experience in the agricultural sector (experience with agroforestry, smallholder value chains and/or carbon projects is a plus)
• Fluent in English both spoken and written. Mastering Swahili (or other relevant languages) is a plus.
• Strong networking & collaboration skills, combined with service orientation
• A strong personality where persuasiveness is used in a natural and effective way and the execution power is demonstrably present, results-oriented mentality combined with organizational sensitivity
• Conscientious, integer, rigorous, accurate, organized

This is what we offer you

• up to € 6.811,- gross per month (scale 9)
• An extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
