You and your job

As a Compliance Model Validator, you are part of the Compliance Model Validation team, located in Utrecht, which holds 19 direct colleagues. You keep oversight on the models that Rabobank uses to protect itself and society against compliance risks such money laundering, terrorism financing, evasion of sanctions and fraud.

You will be responsible for supporting the execution of independent model validations on several models that the Rabobank Group uses to fulfil its role as a gatekeeper to the financial system.

Your average working day

Are you curious about what would be on your to-do list on an average working day? For instance, you proactively advise and challenge the business in its activities to develop, maintain and monitor its models, focusing on whether these models adequately mitigate the Compliance risks in scope. This involves executing analyses, discussing these with your colleagues, and summarizing your conclusions. You help engaging developers and managers in the business to understand, challenge and validate the reasoning behind their choices.

Your main responsibilities

  • Support the execution of model validations & reviews on a selection of models. This involves executing model validation tests, and discussing analyses with stakeholders across the bank
  • Support our advice and challenge role by writing independent opinions on proposed model changes by the model owners and developers
  • Provide advice at your discretion to developers and the business when it comes to the models in your area of expertise. You keep up-to-date on current developments in the field and incorporate this in our way of working

Together we achieve more together than alone

We believe in the power of difference. Bringing together people's differences is what makes us an even better bank. So we are very curious about what you can bring to our Compliance Model Validation Team. Together, we challenge the fit-for-purpose of the models that are developed and used by the first line of responsibility. Through our model validations and reviews, we contribute to a transparent risk profile that gives senior management the opportunity to effectively manage compliance risks with a forward-looking mindset.

“I am happy to be part of this diverse and dedicated team with a crucial mission to enhance the safety and accountability of banking, ultimately making a positive impact on lives of people. I feel empowered to do my job in the best possible way I can!”
- Alperen Evrin

Your future colleagues are looking forward to working with you. They will be gladly of your help to challenge and advise our first-line colleagues on their models.
