Join Rabobank as a Lead DevOps Engineer! Work with an enthusiastic team to deliver end-to-end solutions for diverse stakeholders and advance your career with one of the most reputable financial institutions in the world. You will take a leading role in the team to advice on technical solutions, guide your team members and you develop the technically most challenging items yourself. You will work in a multidisciplinary squad with other developers, testers, business analysts and a scrum master and product owner. Next to your own squad, you will work together with the other Lead DevOps Engineers of the other squads to ensure the quality and consistency of the application.

Practical Examples

  • Lead a team of developers responsible for the end-to-end development process;
  • Collaborate with other lead developers, Product Owners, Business Architects and Tech Leads to understand business requirements and translate these into Backlog Items;
  • Implement best practices for code reviews, continuous integration, and deployment;
  • Work in an agile environment and help in improving efficiency, velocity and team building.

Top responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the full development process, from requirements to the (continuous) delivery pipeline, up to running in the production environment;
  • Focusing on realising business requirements but also take operational and continuous delivery requirements into account, such as security, maintainability and test automation;
  • As the lead DevOps engineer of your squad you are used to taking the lead, giving feedback and continuously look for the best solution;
  • You are a subject matter expert in your area of expertise and bring your wide experience and knowledge to the team and contribute to increase the maturity of the team.

You recognize yourself from the description below:

  • 7+ years working experience .NET developer (C#)
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud (preferably certified Azure Developer Associate)
  • Knowledge about architecting and developing maintainable and scalable software 
  • Have clear leadership skills and can take a team along in your vision
  • Good communication skills and a team player
  • Experience in international IT projects English speaking and writing (Dutch nice to have)
  • Experience with the Agile way of working 
  • Curious, analytic, pro-active, determined, result driven and not afraid to share his/her opinion

  • Azure Cloud services (Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory))
  • .NET 6 (formerly .NET Core) and higher
  • C#
  • OOP principles, SOLID, DDD, Design Patterns
  • SQL (specifically SQL Server)
  • Build automation, Azure Pipelines, YAML, Azure CLI
  • Entity Framework (Or comparable ORM)
  • Web API’s / Swagger / REST
  • OAuth / Azure App Registrations
  • Unit Testing / TDD / Mocking Frameworks
  • Visual Studio
  • ASP.NET Core
  • Git
  • Azure DevOps

Nice to have:

  • Azure Databricks
  • Python
  • Experience with Microservices
  • Experience with finance or banking systems and processes
  • Experience with API gateways

This is what we offer you

  • a gross monthly salary between € 4.848,- and € 6.926,- (scale 10 based on your experience, 36 hours per week).
  • 13th month and holiday pay: the holiday allowance and annual allowance will usually be paid out in 12 equal monthly instalments. Employees have the option once a year to opt for the holiday allowance to be paid out in May and the annual allowance in December.
  • an Employee Benefit Budget (10% of your monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions, or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out.
  • an annual personal development/training budget of € 1.400,-
  • 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport! Do you still prefer to travel by car or motorbike? Then choose a commuting allowance.
  • a monthly € 40,- net work from home allowance, based on working from home 5 days per week.
  • a monthly € 40,- net internet allowance.
  • Attractive pension fund with a personal contribution of only 5.5%. Rabobank will contribute 21.5%.
