Within the Data & Analytics Tribe, you work on the data-driven enterprise. The tribe consists of 6 areas, namely:

• Global Data & Data Governance Platform
• Analytics Platform
• Data & Factory Services
• Data Science
• Business Intelligence
• Customer Analytics
  

Our areas together comprise approximately 50 squads. For many of the squads, Azure is the foundation on which we build. We need your help to create groundbreaking solutions for our 7 million customers.

This vacancy falls within the Global Data & Data Governance Platform area. Within this area, we work with 18 squads on the "global governed data marketplace" for Rabobank. Based on your profile and competencies, we determine where you can make the most impact.

You & Your Role
We are taking the next step in our transformation and therefore opening this position. We are moving our organization from IT to Tech. As a Principal Engineer, you are the visionary who supports technical projects and brings advanced data solutions to life. Your role is crucial in shaping the technical architecture, designing innovative systems, and implementing solutions that manage and analyze data optimally. And when necessary, you step in to solve high-urgency issues.

You are here to make an impact, and you do this by:

• Taking a leadership role in projects related to data and Azure, pushing the boundaries of what is possible. 
• Designing and implementing scalable, cutting-edge data solutions in the Azure ecosystem. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to determine and monitor the technical direction. 
• Striving for the highest standards in data management and security by evaluating and implementing best practices. 
• Solving complex technical issues and acting as a mentor and guide for your team. 
• Staying ahead with research into new technologies and tools, applying them to improve the data infrastructure. 
• Viewing the world with a growth mindset. As mentioned earlier, we assess where your competencies are best suited.
  

With Your Talents: 

It is logical that innovation, coaching, impact, communication skills, and vision are indispensable for the role of Principal Engineer. Additionally, it is important that you recognize yourself in the following checklist:

• Demonstrable academic level (Master) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• Your programming skills (10-15 years of experience) are sharp, with expertise in languages such as Python and SQL, but the exact language doesn't matter to you. 
• You have extensive experience with Azure services such as Azure Datalake Gen2, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database or perhaps Airflow. 
• You are a trusted coach and thought leader within your field, especially regarding future developments in technical languages and techniques. 
• Outside the organization, you have built a network. 
• Within your expertise, you are known in the community and share knowledge and skills. 
• Innovation is in your DNA, and you play a leading role in exploring new technologies and actively contributing to innovation within the organization. 
• Your ability to provide advice is unparalleled, and you are an essential link in the Agile work process. 
• Achieving consensus between teams for complex technical solutions is second nature to you. 
• You excel in clear communication and create a shared understanding among stakeholders. 
• Most importantly, you have an insatiable interest in technology and self-development.

• Based on your experience: up to a yearly salary including all benefits of € 134,000, - gross per month (scale 11)

• An extra budget of 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out. 
• A budget of € 750- to set up your home working space and a monthly home working allowance of up to € 40- 
• A personal development budget of € 1,400- 
• A combination of working from home and at the office 
• 100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport 
• A pension scheme to which you contribute 3.5% 
• 151.2 hours holiday per year + 1 Diversity Day per year
