Analytics Lead Transaction Monitoring

As a Transaction Monitoring Analytics Lead you make societal impact, by helping our team members to get the best out of themselves in developing detection models processing Rabobank’s transactions of 8+ million customers to catch the criminals.

You and your job
Preventing Money Laundering & Terrorist Financing is one of the key aspects for our society and our organisation, and as a bank we play a major role in this field. The Transaction Monitoring (TM) team optimizes our current TM system and will introduce more advanced analytics methodologies such as Machine Learning into our TM models. You will be responsible for building a team with the capabilities, skills, and culture to make this happen. Additionally, you are part of the larger Advanced Analytics Community within Rabobank which you can build on and contribute to, for example for acceleration of learning and development.

Our Area/department is organized in >15 multidisciplinary squads filled with ambitious, smart, and motivated professionals. We are proud to operate as one TM team across these squads, for which it is key that the management team sets the right example. As part of the management team of our Area/department, you will be in a leading role to encourage the team members to get the best out of themselves and each other and you make sure the new colleagues we recruit have the mindset, knowledge, and skills we need. Your focus with coaching will be on a subset of team members reporting to you hierarchically, who are working across multiple squads. However, with all other responsibilities (e.g., coordinating onboarding, recruitment, trainings, development frameworks, etc.) we expect you to work with the rest of the management team on behalf of the entire Area/department. Additionally, it is important to realize that you will be responsible for the recruitment and development of those team members who report to you, but not for the results they deliver. The Product Managers and Product Owners are responsible for delivering committed milestones, and the Analytics Leads are responsible for ensuring the Product Managers and Product Owners have the right people with the right capabilities to do so.

As a TM Analytics Lead you will:

• Coach and support your direct reports to find and seize the best opportunities to develop themselves and thrive within our TM team
• Optimize our recruitment process and build and maintain relations with suppliers to ensure we add the best suitable candidates to our team
• Identify current and/or future skills gaps in the team and organize a training to help the team members grow and develop

• Take full HR responsibility for 15+ FTE: recruitment, hard and soft skill development, performance review, and wellbeing
• Function as part of the Area/department management team and ensure working conditions are optimal for the entire team  (e.g., ensuring important processes are well structured, organized and scalable)
• Develop and implement a long term strategy for team culture and learning & development for our multi-disciplinary TM team

You and your talent

As people manager skills and experience are typically hard to conclude from a CV, we will only consider applications including a motivation letter.

• 5+ years working experience proving your talent as natural people manager and committed team player
• 2+ experience in people development and recruitment in the field of analytics
• Sufficient technical background to understand the products and work of team members in our department/Area (e.g.,  MSc in quantitative field: Econometrics, Data Science, Physics (or equivalent)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Communicative people manager with strong organizational skills, who can work well with different people and roles
• Thriving in a high-impact, dynamic and high-paced environment, with ability to structure and stabilize new processes
• Pro-active, business focus and can-do mentality to make the difference in fighting financial crime
• Committed team player who puts the interests of the department first

This is what we offer you

• up to € 8.793 gross per month, depending on your knowledge and experience (scale 10-11).
• Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance.
• An extra budget of 11 % of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out.
• A combination of working from home and at the office.
