You and your job
You work on the Payments Service Provider of Rabobank: Rabo Smart Pay. Payments online, in the shop downtown, or in the mall. So you work on a key element in the payments ecosystem, you make payments happen. The payments world is highly dynamic and continuously evolving. We are highly innovative, together with fellow leading innovators in the market, to drive state of the art services. Merchants need instant insight in their business at any moment, and be able to adapt their payments services quickly.

As an Cloud Operations Engineer you ensure  the quality and continuity of our services to merchants/shops so their customers can make their payments, fast and effortless. And you provide the best platform for the continuous, fast, safe and secure development of our services.

You work in a DevOps team, you create and run your software together. At the same time you are part of the  operations  crew responsible for the 24*7 operations (standby is part of the job).
You shape the future of operations, fully in the cloud.

Lead Software Engineer.

You and your talent

  • 8+ years or more working experience as a operations engineer in complex IT landscapes, on the MS Azure platform and/or AWS, but preferably also on premise (Linux/Websphere/oracle);
  • Experience in or affinity with IT operations in the financial sector, the payment sector in particular;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in e.g. computer sciences;
  • Fluent in English, preferably in Dutch as well;
  • Take full responsibility for the structural quality of the cloud infrastructures with very high performance, availability and security requirements.
  • Take ownership from design to production (pro-active DevOps mindset)
  • Proven track record as innovator and leader of major improvements of (cloud) platform services.
  • As a senior team member you coach colleagues and your informal leadership makes the team better.
  • Agile mindset and experience in working agile/scrum
  • An engineer in heart, mind and soul. A master of your game, thoroughly enjoying it, eager to learn, and happy to share;
  • Very much aware of the developments in your profession and field of expertise, continuously seeking how to bring them to effective use in the organization.
  • Key skills:
    • Highly experienced in Azure Cloud ,- Portal, - Monitoring and Azure DevOps.
    • Creation of well-architected standardized platform services enabling agile development in a devops mindset.
    • Experienced in Linux, Apache HTTP and Websphere version 8.5.5 (or higher)
    • Experienced in Deployment automation and orchestration (Azure Devops)
    • Experienced in Security; Certificate Mngt, Azure Networking (VPN, NSG’s)
    • Experienced in Network infrastructure (e.g. SSL-connectivity, TCP/IP, Firewalls, DNS)
    • Experienced with dbases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
    • Familiar with monitoring tools like ELK stack, Splunk, Azure Log Analytics (nice to have knowledge on APM tools like Dynatrace, Elastic APM)
    • Familiar with automating cloud Infra via Templates and scripting, preferably Terraform or any other Infrastructure as Code is a pre.
    • Basic coding skills using scripting languages on both Linux and Windows (e.g. Bash, Powershell)
    • Understanding the concepts and objectives of DevOps and CI/CD.
    • Setting up effective CI/CD pipelines.
    • Great analytical and problem solving skills
    • Very good communication and cooperation skills
    • Results matter, you get things done whatever happens.

This is what we offer you

  • gross monthly salary up to € 90k (scale 9) depending on experience, knowledge and education. This is including all benefits and based on a 36 hour work week
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 100% reimbursement of the costs of home/work travel if you travel by public transport!
  • An annual personal development budget of € 1.400,-.
  • A very attractive pension scheme, to which your own contribution is only 5,5%.
