The PIP Networks department is part of the Platform & Technology business unit. P&T runs a standardized IT-landscape supporting all thousands of business applications. Key is flexibility to adopt new technology like cloud and support DevOps. P&T offers a wide range of self-service platform solution to the wider ABN AMRO organization. Reliable, compliant and Always on are our core values. Within P&T we mainly work in an Agile and DevOps fashion and are in the middle of implementing Superblocks, Infra team that work together on specific Value Cases.

Your job

We are looking for a experienced network architect in our Network Design & Innovation team. This team is responsible for developing the (global) High Level Design in the Network together with a team of KPN Architects/Designers. To ensure that network designs meet the overall ABN AMRO IT designs / Inspire ambitions there is also a close collaboration with the P&T Design & Engineering department.

The Network HLD are being designed for the roadmap of the other Network Value Stream: End-User, On-Prem and Vortex. A designer in the NDI team needs to have a broad network knowledge ranging from Network Routing Switching, Proxies, Firewalls, Loadbalancing but also the automation & orchestration knowledge.

Complex requests for network changes are also passed on to the NDI design team and it is required to have good communication skills, understanding consumers needs and be assertive in findings the right solution in the ABN AMRO context.

Working environment

PIP Networks is organised in 5 Blocks Supported an Operations team and a Engagement/Change execution team. Each Block has a Product Owner that drives the backlog on Development & Operations of the Services within that block. Network End User (NEU) drives the Office environment with WAN connectivity and WiFi. Network On-Prem drives the Data Center LAN environment and the traditional Security Perimeter functions. Network Interconnect (NIC) provides connectivity between Datacenter/Hosting Platforms and External parties (including SaaS) . Network Design and Innovation (NDI) provides the HLD designs to support the other Blocks. Network Enablement team develops & maintains the monitoring & management tooling for the Network technologies. Operations team will handle all day2day service requests and act as first point of contact on issues/outages. Engagement team will execute day2day configuration changes needed by consumers.

NOTE:We require at least once a week your presence at our office in Amstelveen.

Your profile

  • Advanced network knowledge on Cisco ACI, Cisco DNA, loadbalancing , Firewalls (Palo Alto ), VMware NSX
  • Design certificate : Cisco CCDP
  • Affinity with automation and a drive for automation, knowledge on Pytho, YAML, Jason and Ansible Tower
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You are fluent in English & have a good command of the Dutch language
  • You can work independently
  • You are a teamplayer
  • You have excellent analytical skills (complex requests / designs)

We are offering

  • The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
  • The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
  • Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
