You and your job
You will be working in a challenging and international environment where you enable Rabobank in providing relevant financial services to our Wholesale and Rural clients. As an Appian developer you are responsible for configuring applications in the Client, Banker and Data (CB&D) tribe. Together with the product owner, solution architect and DevOps team, you will realize the digital ambitions of Wholesale & Rural and will be a key success factor in meeting those ambitions.

Your working area will be the Data & Connectivity area within the CB&D tribe, the main objective of this area is to support client onboarding and be the golden source for client data of wholesale and rural customers.

Department and delivery unit
The Wholesale & Rural domain within IT Systems supports the wholesale and rural bank across the globe. The CB&D tribe delivers and supports global business systems, including process automation in the areas of CRM, Client onboarding, KYC (Know Your Customer), Client Data Management, Cognitive Capture and Document Management. Examples of applications we develop in Appian are Party Module, R4 and Contract Repapering. Within the tribe applications such as ClientLink, Banker’s Cockpit, AMS, GCOB (Global Client On Boarding), FileNet, DataCap, GCDS, WRR Datahub and the RBB portal are supported. These applications vary in their lifecycle, some applications are at the very beginning and some are at the end of their lifecycle. The technology is a combination of ‘home grown’ applications and IBM, Appian and Microsoft package configurations.

Making a difference by

  • Being a team player who enjoys problem solving while driving the team to deliver great solutions. Building scalable applications according to Appian best practices and sharing your knowledge with other teams to help them grow their skills.
  • Working in a squad that is responsible for developing and maintaining the Client lifecycle application (Party Module). This application is built to ensure a user-friendly starting point for party lifecycle management of W&R (Wholesale & Rural) parties.
  • Working with a T-shape profile. You can run diverse roles: Appian developer and application designer. Together with the whole squad you are also responsible for the continuity and security standards of the application.

With you 

  • Academic working and intellectual level in the field of Computer Sciences.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the ICT sector.
  • A problem-solving attitude.
  • Good knowledge and experience in designing and building process applications in Appian.
  • Worked on different Appian projects ranging from smaller to business-critical workflows.
  • Practical working experience with Appian should be level 3 (no direct certification required, but deep technical understanding is tested for this role)
  • Experience in business-critical service.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business aspects and to translate it into Appian solution.
  • Flexibility to switch between design/development tasks and production incidents where problem solving is crucial.
  • Valuable experience in working with JSON, REST, SOAP and SQL databases
  • Understanding of web concepts such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, XML
  • Good command of English (business level). Dutch or the willingness to learn this will be extremely useful.

This is what we offer you

  • 36 - 40 hours per week; 
  • Up to €5355,- (scaling depends on skillset and experience)
  • An extra budget of 10% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out.
  • Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance
  • A personal development budget of €1400
  • Hybrid working
