You and your future
As part of the Young Professional Program at Rabobank you launch your career for 18 months by learning on the job and put your skills into practice. You will work in the finance and risk domain. Exposed to your day-to-day activities in one of our teams, you work on collecting and modelling data, create datasets, and monitor and validate the data provided by different internal suppliers. A nd advising other professionals how to create or sustain value with that data. We work Agile in a cross functional teams.
Note; this is not a Data Scientist role.
You represent our department and your team, act as a liaison to various stakeholders, including regulators and the business. You will be supported by a buddy and your manager. Approximately half a day per week you will join the other Young Data Professionals to be coached by a Talent Manager. Together you work on soft- and hard skills and will be provide all relevant tools to succeed.
These are different examples of roles available in this program
Data Analyst
Our Data Analysts work on a mix of run, change and data management initiatives within agile squads. Working as a Data Analyst you can expect to (further) develop the following skills: Business Acumen, Business Process Improvements, Data Insights, Data Quality, Data Visualization, Programming Languages, Requirements Analysis
Data Engineer
As a junior Data Engineer it is a pre to have knowledge of SQL an Python. Also knowledge of Databricks and basic data modelling. Working as a Data Engineer you can expect to (further) develop the following skills: Data Infrastructure, Data Governance, Data Modelling, Data Quality, Programming Languages.
Data Steward
Working as a Data Steward you can expect to (further) develop the following skills: Business Acumen, Business Process Improvements, Business Strategies, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Warehousing (DW), Regulatory Compliance, Requirements Analysis.
You will start in a group of young professionals on April 1st 2024. The first week you will spend with the other young professionals receiving training, getting to know each other and the bank to prepare you for your role in one of the teams. The program will guide you through a variety of assignments and teaches you both the soft skills and technical knowledge to succeed in your role. If you want, it is possible to rotate after nine months. If you enjoy the position that you are in, you are welcome to stay there! You will work in the squad for approximately 32 hours a week. The other 4 hours are spent on training or working on research projects and business challenges together with the other young professionals.
Projects
- Be part of the transition process to becoming a more data driven organization. You will take responsibility for data elements for their end-to-end usage true out the Rabobank.
- Tackle various data related issues and work on global and cross functional change projects to improve our processes and systems.
- Pro-actively align with regulatory data requirements and gather proper data for your stakeholders.
- Flag data quality issues and help support the business in the remediation of the identified historical data quality issues.
- Contribute to the implementation of the Data Management principles on the applications you support.
Practical
- Length: Data YPP: 18 months
- After which you will continue to work with us as Data Analyst, Data Engineer or Data Steward
- Hours per week: 36
- Every Friday afternoon is Data Young Professional Afternoon at the office!

You and your talent
- A relevant master’s degree in for example Finance, Business (Administration), Econometrics, Data, Statistics, Engineering, etc. Or a Bachelor’s degree or applied sciences degree with strong motivation.
- Experience with programming/coding for example SQL, Python or R, an interest in credit risk, treasury and/or commercial banking in general.
- Approximately 0 to 2 years of work experience.
- Excellent command of the English language, living in the Netherlands at the moment of application.
- You inspire with your story, have a proactive and positive attitude and would like to go for results,
- You believe that feedback makes you stronger,
This is what we offer you
- €3.416 gross per month (scale 7).
- A 13th month's salary and vacation pay; An Employee Benefit Budget (10% of your monthly salary). Use this at their own discretion, for example, it can be used to buy extra vacation days or to make an additional deposit in your retirement fund. Employees can also opt to have the EBB paid out to them as part of their monthly salary.
- A personal budget that you can spend on activities related to your personal development and career.
- A combination of working from home and from the office.
