Investment Associate

Imagine investing in companies that contribute to the Food System Transition; feeding the world within planetary boundaries. As part of the Rabo Ventures team you will be part of a team building a n equity portfolio of ventures creating positive change and delivering financial returns. We invest in opportunities ranging from on-farm solutions like alternative crop inputs and precision farming to alternative protein s and waste reduction. As we are active in North America, Europe and Israel we offer a dynamic international working environment.    

 

With its EUR 150mln mandate Rabo Ventures takes minority equity stakes in early stage Ag & Food tech ventures ranging from seed to series C and often invest s in consortia alongside recognized and specialized investors.  

 

Get results  

• B uild a portfolio of front-running start-ups in Ag & Food tech that make a clear contribution to the Food System Transition    

• Support the growth of our existing portfolio companies also through delivering the value the wider Rabobank network can bring to our start-ups  

 
Top 3 responsibilities  

• I dentify new investment opportunities , amongst other by doing market deep dive s, and t ake the lead in executi on of transactions. This includes due diligence, drafting investment proposals and support the Investment Directors in presenting the investment proposals in the Investment Committee  

• Contribute to portfolio management , including monitoring of company performance and financials and actively looking for opportunities to support the companies, thereby delivering the value Rabobank can bring  

• Start building relationships with the Ag & Food tech VC community, industry experts and thought leaders in a n d outside the bank on relevant topics

You and your talent  

• > 3 years relevant working experience, preferably in VC , strategy consulting or corporate development in the ag & food sector ; investment experience and a technical background relevant to this space is considered a benefit  

• Affinity with (emerging) Ag & Food tech and a drive to use this technology to address pressing challenges   

• Experience in market research and due diligence and able to clearly communicate findings in writing  

• Entrepreneurial mindset: driving results, taking initiative, showing enthusiasm & courage  

• Able to navigate a large organization and recognizing the value it can bring  

• Strong written & verbal communication skills and command of English , commercial focus, collaboration, social skills and integrity  

• A llowed to work in NL / in the EER  

 

This is what we offer you    

• Salary according to CLA in scale 9  

• Additionally: holiday allowance ( 8 %), 13 th month and an additional budget of 11% to spend in several ways (including as extra salary or holiday hours)  

• A pension scheme, to which your contribution is only 3.5% or 5.5%, to your choice.
