contributing to improving income levels of smallholder farmers in developing countries by supporting them in their transition to agroforestry and at the same time combating climate change, land degradation and food insecurity at a large scale!
Acorn, a new initiative within Rabobank, uses satellite images to measure farmers’ carbon storage (through biomass) and translates this into carbon removal units, providing smallholder farmers access to the international carbon market and finance for the transition into agroforestry. This is how we are contributing to growing a better world as well as to a stronger Rabobank.

We work with local partners (often NGO’s) who support farmers in their transition to agroforestry. Together with these local partners we collect relevant data from the farmers, including personal information and farm plot coordinates, and ground truth data that is used to train our model that measures biomass. For the latter we partner with external partners with specialized expertise. We are looking to expand our Operations team with a coordinator data collection. In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination of all data collection on a global scale.

Practical examples of your activities
1. Drafting a data collection plan together with local partners
2. Train and work with enumerators digitally or at location (LATAM; Africa and Asia)
3. Identify and resolve basic issues during data collection
4. Align with external partners collecting agroforestry data

You and your talent
Integrity, accuracy and a drive for success are essential for the role of coordinator data collection. You work in an organized way and you think rigorous. It is important that you recognise yourself in everything below:

• University degree;
• 3-7 years’ experience in project management or coordinating roles in an international environment;
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills;
• Result oriented mentality;
• Organized worker;
• Demonstrated ability to achieve goals while working in a fast-paced, collaborative and international environment;
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written. A second language such as Spanish is a pre.

This is what we offer you

• A salary between €3,959 and € 6,741 gross per month (scale 9-10), depending on your experience.
• Flexible hybrid working with remote and physical weekly meetings at the head office of Rabobank.
• An additional Employee Benefit Budget (11% of your monthly salary), plus thirteenth month’s salary and 8% holiday allowance.
