As a Startup & Scale-up Banker you can make a meaningful impact by contributing to their success through financial solutions and providing access to our (international) network and expertise. You have the ability to communicate effectively with an entrepreneurial crowd, understanding the challenges and opportunities they face and by being familiar with their ways of working. You are really in your element working in the Startup & Scale-up ecosystem in the Southern part of the Netherlands, with the Brainport as its beating heart. You are Rabobank’s ambassador, facilitating connections among stakeholders, promoting collaborations, sharing best practices, and showcasing stories that inspire and activate others.

• Contributing to Rabobank's transition strategy by supporting entrepreneurs who enable and accelerate transitions, in line with Rabobank’s strategic goals such as the transition to a more sustainable and inclusive society.
• Understanding innovative and scalable business models of these companies and swiftly grasping the essence of technologies. Distinguishing between inventive minds and early-stage visionaries (and offering guidance to inventors on building their teams, and providing occasional reality checks to visionaries).
• Helping both existing and new clients to start and growth properly. Facilitate access to banking products and services, leveraging your/our network to help validate ideas by introducing them to potential customers and partners, guiding them toward subsidies, making introductions to investors, provide access to our knowledge and recognizing customer needs and translating them into tailored financial solutions.
• Offering a range of funding solutions from Rabobank's diverse product and connecting companies to external investors (a.o. Venture Capitalists, Regional Development Agencies, angel investors). Realizing the deal, from origination, structuring, negotiating to closing while being able to work closely with the relationship managers and other specialists on credit applications and documentation. Being keen on (strategic) cross-sell opportunities.
• Being Rabobank’s ambassador in the market that builds, maintains and opens up relationships with the regional Startup & Scale-up ecosystem (coordinating and networking in, and between entrepreneurs, accelerators, corporates etc.), in this case the vibrant Brainport which is a hub for high tech and deep tech innovations. Making valuable connections between relevant internal departments (a.o. our knowledge departments) and this ecosystem.
• Contributing to the successful development of our Startup & Scale-up Banking proposition aimed towards realising a long term commercially viable business where the Startup & Scale-up ecosystem recognises Rabobank as the #1 Bank for Startups & Scale-ups in the Netherlands!

Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do. Our Startup & Scale-up team brings talented people together to be part of the ambition of Rabobank to help entrepreneurs grow. In achieving this, we seamlessly blend regional presence with centralized product and service development, meaning you'll play an integral role within two teams! First, you collaborate with your Startup & Scale-up team colleagues that have similar roles as you and whom you will regularly meet with to exchange learnings and ideas and to contribute to each other’s development. Together you provide feedback to the colleagues from ‘head office’ on customer needs so that they develop solutions for your customers. Second, you are a part of the regional team (“Specialistenbank”) in which specialists work with multiple roles and backgrounds, close to your customers and prospects.

You have a direct report to the Teamlead Grootzakelijk of the Regional Team in Eindhoven and a functional line with the Manager Startup & Scale-up within Commercial Banking.

You and your talent

Customer focus, a team player, results driven and commercially orientated are clearly essential for the role of Startup & Scale-up Banker. In addition, it is important that you recognize yourself in the checklist below:

• Bachelor or master degree and at least 3 years working experience;
• Curious about - and knowledge of - technological developments and/or the translation to business models and earning models;
• Experience in digitization, innovation or entrepreneurship;
• Experience in financing, funding and know your way around financial products;
• Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbally.

• A gross monthly salary according to € 3.423,90 and € 6.741,24 scale 8, 9 or 10 (depending on your knowledge & level of experience)
• A thirteenth month and holiday pay
• An Employee Benefit Budget (9/10% of your monthly salary). You decide how to spend this budget. This may include purchasing extra leave days, making extra pension contributions or even receiving a monthly cash pay-out
• A personal budget that you can spend on activities related to your personal development and career
