As (Junior) Legal Counsel, you have a challenging role, whereby you support the Europe (and a very small part of Africa) region with your high-quality legal expertise.

Imagine working in a team that contributes to the growth and strategy of the Europe & Africa Region by supporting the activities of the region with high-quality legal expertise and managing legal risks related to these activities. This includes analyzing and help in developing products and services, providing legal advice and support in transactions, identifying and addressing the associated (legal) risks and issues, and sharing your knowledge with our colleagues over a broad range of business and staff departments. An average working day
Are you curious about what would be on your to-do list on an average working day? Your day-to-day activities include:
Keeping control of the legal risks and legal framework for the bank with respect to financing structures;
Being a sparring partner for your fellow team members and colleagues in various business departments, both within the Region Europe and Africa and beyond;
Accurately identifying potential issues and risks;
Drafting of legal documentation;
Coordinating, negotiating and overseeing transactions;
Keeping up with the latest legislation and applying it in our daily practice;
Cooperating with colleagues from different disciplines (e.g. Compliance and Risk) throughout the bank.
Focus on this position
Your primary focus will be on working on transactional support in syndicate and bilateral financing transactions for the core lending business lines and transaction banking.

The team currently consists of 22 legal counsels, each with their own unique background. We encourage to broaden horizons through secondments across the teams.
You and your talent
Customer focus, pro-activeness, organizational sensitivity, and decisiveness are clearly essential for this position. In addition, we are looking for the following qualifications:
Masters of Law, preferably Dutch law qualified;
At least 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in banking and finance and preferably within corporate finance and/or payment services;
Excellent command of the Dutch and English language.
This is what we offer you
An attractive benefits package that fits in scale 8 or 9 (between €3.423,90 and €5.655,50 gross per month), depending on your experience and seniority;
Thirteenth month's salary and 8% holiday allowance;
An Employee Benefit Budget (EBB) of 10% - 11% of your gross salary to be used at your discretion. Buy extra holiday hours, add more to your pension savings or ask for part of the extra budget to be paid out;
Personal budget of €1.400,- to spend on activities related to your personal development and career;
€750,- budget to set up your home workplace and up to €40,- for working from home allowance per month;
Flexible working times and hybrid location-independent working within the limits dictated by working in a team;
100% reimbursement of commuting costs if you travel by public transport;
A pension scheme to which you contribute 5%.
