At Rabobank, we are dedicated to make a substantial impact on the financial world. We are seeking ambitious and talented individuals to join our Wholesale Banking traineeship track. This is an exceptional opportunity to kickstart your career and become a future leader in corporate finance.
Are you fascinated by the fast-paced world of financial markets? Do you thrive on solving complex problems, making data-driven decisions, and thinking strategically under pressure? Then this is your launchpad.
Join our Rabobank Traineeship Wholesale Banking track with a focus on Trading and Treasury. The Treasury and Trading departments work closely together where you will become part of high-impact teams that sit at the heart of our organization’s financial engine. From day one, you’ll work alongside seasoned professionals, gain hands-on experience in trading, liquidity management and build the skills to become a future leader in finance.
The Trading team acts as market maker and provides competitive pricing and liquidity to clients. This means that Trading warehouses risk or lays-off risk direct in the market. When direct lay-off is not suitable, risk positions that have been acquired from clients (‘risk on’) can either be redistributed to other clients (‘risk off’) or managed through risk transformation (‘hedging’). Additionally, Trading manages risk positions, within appropriate risk limits, and takes advantage of the yield curve and curve movements. The market positions are based on extensive fundamental and technical market analysis, comprehensive market research and current market behaviour.
Treasury plays a key role in managing the bank’s own interest rate, liquidity and FX-risk positions that have a significant impact on its risk profile and results. Our value chain ranges from taking in raw-data and modelling to balance sheet steering and execution of transactions in financial markets.
Your self-starting and entrepreneurial attitude is essential and will be an asset to our teams. You are truly interested in banking and financial products, and you like to work in a fast-paced environment. You are able to work on many projects at the same time in close cooperation with others. You build contacts with clients and prospects of the bank and keep up to date on market developments. Next to this you are stress resilient, maintain a good internal network, and take the lead in the preparation and execution of pitches or transactions.
If this triggers you, imagine yourself rotating in these teams and making a difference by:
Trading
- Structuring, origination and execution of transactions.
- Prepare and deliver relevant market intelligence, trends, dynamics, and trading strategies to clients.
- Analyse client and market data to come up with trading ideas and hedge solutions.
- Assist traders in running their book and manage their trading position.
- Engaging in the day-to-day initiation with other traders and Sales.
Treasury
- Learn about financial markets, (derivative)products and balance sheet-dynamics.
- Analysing data and risk-positions for steering and hedging purposes.
- Support origination and execution of transactions.
In the Rabobank Traineeship, you will work on your personal development for 18 months. This includes personal leadership, relevant skills, and various themes such as sustainability, as well as learning how a bank operates.
You will meet fellow trainees from different departments weekly, and on other days you will work within your own team. Through rotations and assignments, you will get to know a large part of the bank. You will be guided by a Young Talent Manager, who will challenge you to reflect and delve deeper into your development.
