During this internship at Rabobank, you will work on your career by joining the Collateral Management team on the Utrecht dealing room. You will help reduce counterparty credit exposure by exchanging collateral with international financial institutions and learn how margin calls, risk mitigation and asset management work in practice.As an intern, you will be part of a team of four Collateral Specialists operating within Treasury / Securities Finance, located on the Utrecht dealing room. Each day, the team mitigates counterparty credit risk by exchanging collateral with financial counterparties worldwide. 

You will participate in daily margin calls, agree and exchange collateral, and manage the pool of assets. You will also ensure all collateral movements are accurately recorded in the bank’s systems and investigate questions about specific positions. In addition, you can contribute to improvement projects related to automation, system maintenance and process optimisation.

This internship provides a unique opportunity to learn about derivatives, securities lending, repo activities, funding and the broader treasury landscape — all within an international environment connected to major global financial institutions. A background in these products is not required; much will be learned through on‑the‑job training.

• You are a 3rd‑ or 4th‑year bachelor student, or a master student.
• You are studying finance, economics or a similar field.
• You are eager and motivated to develop yourself.
• You have affinity with financial markets, collateral management and/or risk mitigation.
