Non-Financial Risk Specialist I (Entrpr RiskMgt) (334141)
For the BCBS 239 Independent Validation Unit (IVU), part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department, we are looking for temporary reinforcement. This assignment is specifically intended for employees who have been given notice of redundancy or have become redundant. The temporary role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work at the heart of the bank’s risk data aggregation and reporting landscape. While supporting the IVU with its day‑to‑day activities, you will apply your skills in a new context, gain relevant experience, and increase your visibility within the organisation.
During this temporary assignment, you will support the IVU in assessing the quality, consistency, and usability of risk data and risk reporting across the bank. You will work in a data‑driven environment where risk management, data governance, and technology come together. Guided by BCBS 239 principles, the focus of your work is on how data is sourced, aggregated, governed, and reported, and whether it effectively supports decision‑making.
Your activities may include:
- Supporting independent validations related to risk data aggregation, data governance, and risk reporting
- Contributing to thematic reviews, deep dives, and control assessments
- Assessing and documenting data flows, reporting processes, and key dependencies
- Supporting the review of remediation actions and improvement initiatives
- Assisting in preparing clear and structured validation reports and presentations
- Collaborating with colleagues from risk management, data, IT, and internal audit
The scope and depth of the assignment will be aligned with your experience, availability, and the duration of the placement.
You will temporarily join the IVU, a team of six professionals embedded within the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department. ERM operates under the bank’s risk vision: “To secure risk excellence in the heart of ABN AMRO.”
The IVU works at the intersection of risk management, data, and technology. The team values collaboration, constructive challenge, and professional trust. Temporary colleagues are fully included in the team and supported in delivering their contribution while gaining new insights and experience.
We work in line with the organisation’s core values: Care, Courage, and Collaboration.
This temporary assignment is suitable for an employee who has been given notice of redundancy or has become redundant and is looking to make a valuable contribution while remaining professionally active.
You bring:
- Experience or affinity with risk management, IT, and/or data management
- Analytical skills and a structured way of working
- The ability to understand processes and data flows and document findings clearly
- A professional and cooperative attitude when working with different stakeholders
- Willingness to learn and apply your experience in a new context
- Experience with data governance, reporting, IT application controls or internal audit is an advantage, but not required.
- A temporary assignment within Enterprise Risk Management, specifically for employees who have been given notice of redundancy or have become redundant
- Meaningful and relevant work that allows you to apply and further develop your skills
- Integration into a professional and supportive team
- The opportunity to expand your internal network and increase your visibility within the bank
- Clear agreements on duration and hours, in line with applicable Mobility and redeployment rules
- Ongoing coordination through the Mobility Organisation and Together & Better objectives
