Senior M365 / UC&C Platform Engineer

As a Senior M365 / UC&C Platform Engineer, you are a key technical authority within the UC&C Area and a member of the Area leadership (Area Sync). You work closely with the Area IT Lead, Product Owners, Domain Architects and DevOps engineers to define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the UC&C scope within Digital Workplace.
You remain deeply involved in engineering within the M365 DevOps teams, setting technical standards and guiding complex implementations. Digital Workplace supports over 30,000 colleagues globally. Your focus will be on:
- Technical leadership & senior engineering: act as the technical conscience of the UC&C Area, set technical direction, lead by example in complex M365 designs and implementations, and apply market best practices.
- End-to-end ownership & strategic execution: take ownership of key initiatives, guide teams through strategic and technological transformations, and ensure scalable, future-proof outcomes.
- Security, compliance & responsible innovation: embed security, data protection and governance by design, and provide leadership on the responsible adoption of AI and emerging technologies within the Digital Workplace.
- Stakeholder collaboration & influence: work closely with engineers, Product Owners, architects and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
- Team maturity & continuous improvement: coach engineers, raise the engineering bar across the area, and continuously improve reliability, automation, security and user experience.
Digital Workplace is part of the ABN AMRO Platform & Technology organization. The UC&C Area consists of four autonomous DevOps teams that work closely together. The DevOps teams have a dedicated Product Owner and platform engineers both on and offshore. Together, they ensure end-to-end secure, reliable and seamless collaboration anytime and anyplace. The respective teams have a focus on M365, Collaboration and Unified Communications functionality.

You are a senior engineer with a strong sense of ownership, combining deep technical expertise with the ability to influence, guide and inspire others (stakeholders and junior engineers). You must have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English. On top you recognize yourself in the following:
- Proven technical leadership: experience in Microsoft 365, UC&C or Digital Workplace environments, with the ability to lead complex technical initiatives end-to-end.
- Strong M365 expertise: deep hands‑on knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform, end‑user services, and large-scale transitions such as cloud‑managed workplace solutions.
- Security, compliance & governance knowledge: solid experience with Microsoft 365 security, compliance and data governance in enterprise environments.
- AI & emerging technologies mindset: affinity with AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to assess opportunities, risks and impact within the Digital Workplace.
- Modern delivery practices: solid understanding of Agile, DevOps and automation practices, and experience coordinating complex implementations and data migrations.
