At a glance

Join our Analytics & Innovation team as a Data Scientist and help Finance Controlling move faster with sharper insights and smarter processes. You’ll lead end-to-end data science projects, sourcing and modelling data in Databricks and building AI/ML solutions from first idea through production. You thrive in a supportive, collaborative team where knowledge sharing is part of the daily rhythm, and you bring strong programming skills (Python, PySpark, SQL), clear communication, and a hands-on, independent mindset. In return, we offer a competitive salary, generous vacation, a personal development budget, and flexible hybrid working options.

Your job

As a Senior Data Scientist, you take a leading role in data science initiatives that contribute to process optimisation and the generation of strategic insights for Finance. You design, develop and maintain AI and ML models. You initiate innovation projects, make model choices, and are co-responsible for bringing new models into production. Your work sets standards for quality and helps develop the team further.

In your role, you will

  • Unlock, model and structure internal and external data in our Databricks environment.

  • Design, develop and maintain advanced models and applications using AI and ML techniques, from experimentation through production deployment.

  • Perform complex analyses and research, make well-founded model choices, explore new methodologies, and develop and operationalise use cases through to production.

  • Safeguard the quality of models and analyses, mentor junior data scientists, and promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team and stakeholders.

Working environment

Analytics & Innovation is part of Finance Controlling and forms a multidisciplinary, self-organising team. Our mission is to make the Controlling and Finance organisation more data-driven. We focus on three areas:

  • Data insights: we create new insights for Controllers and the Business they support. We identify new data sources, combine Finance and Business data and apply (advanced) analytics techniques and models. In doing so, we support the transformation from expert-based to model-based decision-making.

  • Process optimisation: we continuously look for opportunities to improve existing processes, both within Controlling and Finance more broadly. We explore how new technologies such as GenAI/LLMs can support the work of our colleagues.

  • People & skills: we advise senior management on data opportunities, inspire and inform colleagues about new technologies and contribute to improving analytics skills across the organisation.

Your profile

The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree (WO) and has at least six years of relevant experience. They are skilled in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Databricks, with a proven record of independently initiating and leading complex data science projects. Their strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking enable them to turn complex analyses into actionable insights. With a proactive, solution-focused attitude and a deep sense of responsibility, they are dedicated to continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest developments in data science and technology.

This candidate also dedicates themselves to mentoring junior team members, offering guidance and constructive feedback to support their growth and encourage knowledge sharing within the group. Collaboration is central to their approach, as they actively help build a high-performing team environment and consistently value teamwork.

We are offering

  • An attractive salary, including holiday allowance and an 11% benefits budget
  • Five weeks of vacation per year, with the option to purchase additional days
  • Personal Development Budget of €1,000 per year (up to €3,000 if saved)
  • Flexible hybrid working (in consultation)
  • Free nationwide public transport annual pass
  • Excellent pension scheme
