Programma Manager Future Model Landscape (FML)
Do you want to use your execution power to realize strategic priorities within credit risk management? ASN Bank is looking for a results-driven program manager who can lead the Future Model Landscape (FML) portfolio – a multi-year, bank-wide program that transforms all credit risk models. In this role, you are the linchpin in cross-functional collaboration, position yourself strongly within a dynamic stakeholder field, and ensure that five strategic objectives are actually realized. Orchestrate, simplify, and deliver measurable impact at the most sustainable bank in the Netherlands!
What will you do?
You will lead the Future Model Landscape (FML) program within QRM – a multi-year, multidisciplinary program (until December 2028) that transforms all credit risk models (PHIRM, IFRS, COSMO, BAMBAM, AIM, STARC and Economic Capital).
Your focus:
- Realizing five strategic objectives in the areas of Regulatory Compliance; Model Risk Management; Capital Optimization; Cost Efficiency and Operational Excellence.
- Developing and implementing program management strategy, portfolio architecture and governance, where each model forms a separate sub-portfolio
- Leading a central team (PMO support, risk specialists, analysts) for strategic advice, impact analyses and quality controls
- Monitoring progress, quality and budgets via KPIs, dashboards and reporting
- Evaluating portfolio plans based on IMI findings, regulatory changes and technological innovations
- Ensuring commitment via formal Portfolio Commitment Agreements (resources, budgets, expertise)
- Facilitating cross-functional alignment between QRM, Risk, Finance, IT, Data teams
- Proactively resolving bottlenecks and periodically adjusting resource allocation
- Defining scope based on direct contribution to strategic objectives
- Drafting the program plan including timelines, budgets and dependencies with other programs (Helios, Cortex)
Identifying, analyzing and escalating risks - Continuous alignment with a broad stakeholder field within QRM and beyond (Model Validation, Audit, Finance, Lending, SPO, data), including coordination with strategic programs such as Helios and Cortex: identifying dependencies and aligning deliverables
- Managing conflicting expectations, with attention to both formal and informal organizational dynamics
Where will you work?
As Program Manager FML, you will work within the QRM department (Quantitative Risk Management) and report directly to the Director QRM. You have a unique position: hierarchically equivalent to department heads but with a fundamentally different role. Where department heads are vertically responsible for their own department, you work horizontally across all departments as a strategic coordinator.
You will operate within a hybrid organizational model with strategic central coordination (your role with a central team) and distributed execution (via existing operational reporting lines). You do not have direct line responsibility over execution teams, but you do have the mandate to set priorities, orchestrate resources and enforce cross-functional alignment – both within QRM and with external programs and departments.
What do you bring?
- Academic degree (WO level) with >10 years of experience in portfolio management, program management and/or credit risk modeling
- Proven expertise in the QRM domain, regulatory frameworks (CRR, IFRS9) and change management in complex financial environments
- Experience with resource management, commitment frameworks and matrix organizations
- Extensive experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations
- Experience with project management tooling such as Jira
Competencies
You combine strategic insight into credit risk models and regulatory requirements with strong organizational awareness and political sensitivity to effectively navigate complex stakeholder dynamics. You are decisive in setting priorities and scope, adaptable in dealing with changing circumstances, and possess in-depth PMO and governance expertise. With excellent communication skills, you are able to convince at all levels, from operational to Board level, and you know how to achieve commitment and alignment without hierarchical authority. You effortlessly bridge business and IT and make use of robust governance structures and program management capabilities.
