Domain Expert IV (Credit Risk) (316139)
The Non-Retail Credit Model Risk department, within Model Risk Management & Model Validation (MRM & MV), is a culturally diverse team of approximately 17-19 highly qualified professionals, located in Amsterdam. The team is responsible for model risk management and validation of all models within the non-retail credit risk domain.
ABN AMRO is looking for an experienced Model Risk Officer, with a broad and holistic view across the entire model landscape, value chain, and model lifecycle. As a domain expert you are responsible and take ownership of all model risk activities within your domain, including the approval governance and model risk reporting related items. Based on your expertise in model risk, you provide full-scope advice across the model lifecycle – development, validation, implementation, use and monitoring – and you translate internal and regulatory expectations into practical frameworks, standards, and guidance. You review and challenge the first line’s model risk management and perform independent analyses where necessary to evidence conclusions. You synthesize validation and monitoring outcomes into clear, actionable proposals that enable risk -based decisions on model use and approval, ensuring alignment with the bank’s model risk appetite and the three-lines-of-defence model. You act as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) and professional sparring partner for model owners, developers and other stakeholders, share best practices, and represent the discipline in internal and external expert fora. In addition, you provide input to the MT MRM & MV and other senior management.
Next to the domain oversight, project steering and reporting ownership, you will be embedding structured coaching into the team. You will be formally responsible for coaching some members within your Model Risk team.
