BUUT is a neobank designed for teens and their parents—simple, interactive, visually driven, and 100% at home in the world of the new generation. As Head of Product Design, you’ll lead the design vision for BUUT and ensure every experience feels simple, secure, and delightful. You’ll grow and mentor a talented team of Product Designers, strengthen our design system, and collaborate across Product, Tech, and Growth to turn bold ideas into reality.This will start as a player-coach role, where you lead by example: being hands-on in shaping key experiences while building and guiding the team. Over time, you’ll transition to a more strategic leadership focus as the team grows.BUUT is evolving to a product operating model, where empowered teams own outcomes—not just outputs. Product Designers at BUUT are equal partners in the Product Trio (with Product Managers and Tech Leads), taking full responsibility for discovery, design decisions, and delivery impact. This means Product Designers lead Continuous Discovery—interviewing customers, validating assumptions, and shaping solutions that truly matter.We’re looking for someone who has already led and mentored such a team—or is clearly ready to take on this challenge with confidence and curiosity.

• Lead with Vision: Define and communicate BUUT’s design strategy and future-facing vision.
• Elevate Craft: Ensure end-to-end design quality—from flows and microcopy to accessibility and outstanding visual design.
• Champion Continuous Discovery: Empower Product Designers to lead customer interviews, synthesize insights, and validate ideas early and often.
• Build & Scale: Co-create our design system for speed, consistency, and scalability across products.
• Grow the Team: Hire, coach, and inspire Product Designers to do their best work and develop their careers.
• Collaborate & Influence: Work closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and Growth teams to align design with business outcomes and roadmap priorities.

• Experience leading product-wide UX evolution and driving measurable impact—or clear readiness to step into this challenge.
• Strong background in interaction and visual design, prototyping, and validation.
• Experience with design systems and scaling design in complex environments.
• Leadership skills that combine vision, mentorship, and collaboration.
• Comfort with Continuous Discovery practices—customer interviews, assumption mapping, and rapid validation.
• Experience in consumer-facing digital products; bonus for experience with youth-focused apps or fintech.
• Excellent command of English; Dutch fluency is a strong plus.

Beside this opportunity, we offer:

• Competitive monthly salary of €7,525 – €8,152 (including holiday allowance, paid monthly), depending on experience.
