ESG Risk Analyst

And do you have knowledge of or interest in Sustainable Finance Regulations? Then you are the candidate for the ESG Risk Analyst we are looking for. Our sustainable strategy is built on long-term ambitions in the areas of climate change, the circular economy and social impact.
As a ESG Risk Analyst you contribute to climate-related and environmental risk analyses, including the following particulars:
- Translate developments in science and demands from society and investors into actions for the bank
- Perform risk materiality assessment and heatmapping
- Setting policy requirements and risk appetite
- Define and review climate transition plans
- Contribute to the implementation of sustainable finance regulations by translating requirements into our risk management framework
Banking is the business of taking risks. However, which risks are acceptable and which are not? The Sustainability Risk team identifies ESG risks, assesses the risks and addresses them with concrete measures. Moreover, the team is heavily involved in the implementation of sustainable finance regulations. We consist of an energetic group of people who share the same drive and vision for sustainability and long term value creation. The Sustainability Risk team currently consists of eight professionals with a mix of experience in the field of Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and risk management. The Sustainability Risk team is part of Central Risk Management department, that is besides sustainability risk, responsible for topics like, risk appetite, stress testing, and enterprise risk management. The Sustainability Risk team works in close cooperation with colleagues from across ABN AMRO, including the Sustainability Centre of Excellence, the Sustainable Finance Regulations program, the Business Lines, Finance, Modelling and the Grids.

You possess excellent analytical skills. The ESG Risk Analyst is a professional who is resourceful and possesses a creative and entrepreneurial spirit. You are a self-starter and you like to get things done. This is on your resume:
- Master's or PhD degree in economics, finance, business, environmental science, material science or similar
- Knowledge of / strong affinity with climate and environmental change and impact on clients and ABN AMRO
- You read our annual report and are enthusiastic about all the things we do and you see opportunities for further improvement
- You know about the Green deal and the sustainability agenda of the European Central Bank
- Fast and eager learner
- Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a flexible and collaborative environment while producing independent opinion and actionable recommendations
- Professional working proficiency in English is a must; professional working proficiency (especially spoken) in Dutch is strongly preferred
- > 2 years of experience in Banking or similar, preferably in the area of sustainability and risk management

We’re offering:
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
