Parttime Portfolio Manager Export Finance

It will be your job to manage the existing portfolio of export finance debt transactions, including monitoring, reviewing and controlling credit risks. You will also manage our exposure limits on the ECA’s we work with and fulfil the function of ECA agent on a portfolio of transactions. As a portfolio manager you are responsible for timely handling and producing of credit papers, in-depth credit reviews, assignment of ratings, waivers/amendments, ongoing reviews of projects/clients performances and to process refinancing’s and/or top-up’s of existing debt exposures.
You negotiate and coordinate with clients, ECA’s, other banks, agency desks, external advisors (legal, technical, insurance etc) and our internal departments (o.a. credit risk). You are on top of your clients and borrowers and analyse relevant market trends and developments of your portfolio. You are the main point of contact to the ECA for deals where we are ECA agent and act as the spider in the web between the ECA’s, other banks, agency desks and the client. By occasion you assist the originators and executors for dealing with prospects and client requests including attending lenders meetings, conferences, workshops and internal knowledge sharing sessions to (further) develop your project finance skills.
Your job also includes: contribution to internal projects such as optimization or innovation projects, regulatory developments and other organization wide initiatives.

In the Export Finance team we originate, structure and execute long-term cross border financing of capital goods & services such as large constructions works, ships and (renewable) energy projects under Export Credit Agency (ECA) cover. Within our team we work with all the major global ECAs across various sectors. Our Export Finance consists of 6 professionals, with diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
Export Finance is part of the Financing Solutions unit of ABN AMRO’s Corporate Banking business line. All lending products and expertise are clustered in this product unit. These activities are executed in the following departments: Lending, Specialised & Syndicated Lending (including Syndicated Loan Origination, Leveraged Finance, Export Finance, Project Finance and FI Lending) and Corporate Investments.
It is a part-time job (20 hours per week max). You shall be working in Amsterdam. We work in an open floor space on the Gustav Mahlerlaan, where we have all stakeholders in our vicinity (Client Coverage, Credit Risk, Products, Legal, Sustainability & ESG etc).
- University education or professional qualification;
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant portfolio management experiences, preferably of ECA covered finance transactions and/or other structured corporate financing transactions;
- Experience and/or knowledge of ECA covered transactions;
- Applied knowledge of the debt/credit products, analysis and financial modelling;
- Extensive knowledge of credit processes (incl. credit applications/processing/monitoring/DD), loan documentation (mainly LMA based)
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills (English, Dutch); and
- High integrity and well-balanced personality.
- The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget. This position is a for 20 hours per week.
- The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
- Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
- Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
