Your job

As an IT Engineer / Business Developer in our Settlement & Custody team, you help us translate the wishes of our external and internal stakeholders to deliverables.

Together with the team, you:

  • Analyse externally imposed changes to assess and define the impact on our applications like TCS BaNCS and two in-house developed applications (SPM/NAM).
  • Analyse /provide technical support for the batch processes (off business hours also).
  • Analyse / fix issues within the application.
  • Together with our stakeholders, coordinate the testing of newly developed changes and ensure that all pertinent technical documentation and testing results are recorded;
  • Automated testing scripts to test what is develop (also for future regression testing)
  • Proper JIRA administration of your work (user stories, etc...);
  • Interact with our stakeholders to come up with improvements in our existing landscape.
  • Contribution to ITIL processes that are applicable in Baas (Incident Mngt, Change Mngt, Problem Mngt, Capacity Mngt).
  • Communicate and explain the impact of changes towards a wide range of stakeholders: from senior management, external partners and commercial colleagues all the way to IT developers.
  • Active contribution in the SAC scrum events.

Working environment

The Settlement & Custody grid is an agile scrum team comprised of highly qualified multinational specialists. The team, which comprises of 19 extremely competent individuals with an informal way of working style, focuses on settlement, corporate action, and payment processing inside our custody systems. The sprint priorities are determined by a product owner after consulting with stakeholders. The group built, developed, and maintained the two in-house applications. TCS BaNCS Custody software is developed by a third party. The team does not develop functionalities for the TCS BaNCS application. Rather, we develop suites for tasks like feature testing and chain testing etc. You will participate in all the scrum events of this team and will work on and deliver the integration stories agreed upon on in the sprints.


In your daily work you have to interact with different people/teams across the world such as:

  • The Product Owner, IT Dev Engineers and business developers working in the SAC team;
  • IT Dev Engineers and business developers working in scrum teams of other blocks;
  • Specialists from our Platform Grid department (being DBA, Middleware Team) and the Cognizant Technology Services department (being the platform and networking specialists and the IT Operators);
  • Other people working in or for the AAC GRID such as stakeholders of the blocks.

Your profile

We are looking for a pragmatic and structured person that is willing to work together in a team with Business Developers and IT Engineers.

You are:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree with an IT component with a minimum of 7+ years of experience.
  • Used to work in an international environment - English is a must. Cultural sensitivity is very important as you will work with different nationalities.
  • Experienced in working in the post-trade equities industry with a special focus on the settlements area. The way of working of CSD's, Payment Agents and SWIFT should not be a mystery for you.
  • Able to work with externally imposed deadlines and the resulting stress and responsibility. You have experience working on complex IT implementations together with IT developers.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and available off business hours to provide technical support.
  • Not afraid of legacy systems and you have the drive and stamina to improve our applications.
  • You have the courage to innovate, experiment and continuously improve.
  • Proven communication skills and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize technology solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience in the following technologies Java, JavaScript, SQL, WebServices (SOAP/REST), JSON, XML, LINUX, OpenShift.
  • CI/CD Tooling (Gitlab, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Fortify, Ansible etc.)
  • Proven knowledge of Testing frameworks.
  • Experience in the following practices or methodologies: CICD, DevOps, Agile, Scrum, ITIL.
