At a glance

Are you an IT Engineer? And are you up for a new challenge? Does managing complex payment applications, running on Azure pique your interest? Then you are at the right place. You will be part of the Core Transactions department, which is at the heart of the innovation and growth strategy of our Personal & Business Banking business line. Together we are responsible for maintaining and changing the Core Transactions. Our applications have the highest requirements such as: highest performance, lowest latency, 24*7 availability and no data loss. It is our ambition to ensure that ABN AMRO is continuously able to offer high quality and relevant services to our clients.

Your job

Your main focus will be IT Operations, with special focus on gathering, safeguarding and monitoring the non-functional/operational requirements like performance, stability, reliability and security of the applications. You will challenge solution designs on the basis of business and functional requirements as well as the real purpose for clients. You will gather and share knowledge with other colleagues in an IT Chapter team who are specialized in IT Operations and the technology of the Azure platform. Beside all this you will be the main contact person for upstream as well as downstream teams and be involved in setting up the Azure infrastructure.

Your Tasks

  • Improve monitoring and alerting by continuously checking and analyzing the thresholds and incidents which are created based on alerts. Are the thresholds and the priority of the incidents correct? It’s not just monitoring, it’s also improving the process in order to meet the highest service levels.
  • When incidents are created you will be in the lead to get them solved within the SLA time boundaries. You will improve the teams awareness about incident management. Are high priority incidents picked up immediately? Are the right people involved? Are the stakeholders informed correctly? Is the service administration done correctly? These kind of questions are essential for you to reduce the impact on our clients to a minimum.
  • Keep the service administration up to date.
  • Taking care of the mandatory support activities such as: assessments, audits, DR-tests, manage application maintenance and life cycle management.
  • Contribute to Azure infrastructure as a code.
  • And lots more.

Working environment

You will be part of a multidisciplinary DevOps team, consisting of IT Engineers, a Product Owner and a (rotating) Scrum Master. Together with your team you are responsible for building, running, and maintaining critical payment applications. You will also be working in a multi-vendor IT outsourced environment.

Your profile

We are looking for a person who is pragmatic, has hands on mentality, who likes to solve problems and wants to work on solutions.

  • You take ownership, share knowledge, give feedback, give advice and you always want to improve;
  • You have experience in or have a special interest for the payments area;
  • You have experience in a relevant IT environment (IT service management (ITIL) is definitely a plus);
  • You have knowledge of IT continuity and stability, development methods (Agile), testing and platform infrastructure (cloud technology);
  • You have analytical skills and the ability to quickly master complex IT matters, make connections with people and are willing to invest time in developing yourself in accordance with market standards;
  • You have good communication skills (you know how to explain complex IT matters to third parties in an understandable way);

Since Core Transactions is a complex environment, the preference goes to a colleague who wants to work with us for a longer period. We guaranty you plenty of challenges and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

We are offering

  • The opportunity to be the best you can be, work flexible hours and lots of room to grow both personally and professionally
  • The opportunity to pro-actively work on your vitality and fitness
