Working environment


The ERM Network within Central Risk Management consists of a group of around 80 professionals that are involved with maintaining the strategic risk profile of the bank. We deliver high quality products for our internal and external stakeholders and provide advice to facilitate decision making process.

You will be working with an energetic group of people who share the same drive and vision. Our unique selling point is the diversity of topics and of our colleagues, who come from a background in Risk, Finance, Business or Consultancy and with multiple nationalities. We are always available to help each other. Furthermore, we make time for non-work related activities. Although your initial placement will focus on Stress Testing, you will be part of the larger Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Network with domains that are characterized by working with data analysis (IFRS impairments, Stress Testing & Scenario Analysis, Strategic Capital Allocation, RWA advisory, Economic Capital Advisory, etc.). You will facilitate senior management to define an appropriate response to the material risks faced by the Bank. Based on our deliverables we contribute to informed strategic decisions and by that in defining and controlling the Bank’s strategy. The way of working of the ERM Network offers the opportunity to share your knowledge and contribute to the deliverables of CRM in a broader context. At the same time it offers you the opportunity to learn more about the wider set-up of risk management.

Your job

We are looking for a Stress Testing generalist with an already proven expertise on working on the topic to join our team. Someone who gets inspired and energized by complex tasks that start with retrieving requirements, information & data in an efficient and optimal way. Someone who can structure this input, followed by proper analysis, visualizations and conclusions. Someone who can connect the dots and is able to translate and present strategic advises resulting from the analysis towards Senior Management and regulators and – in doing so – generate impact for the bank. You will have a primary focus on Stress Testing and thereby:
• Perform stress testing and various simulation exercises for internal and regulatory purposes
• As a senior in the team take over coordination roles in various deliverables and ensure optimal delivery in collaboration with the team and various stakeholders
• Communicate internally and with the regulatory bodies at different levels on the outcome of the performed analyses and provide meaningful input for driving strategic decisions
• Perform model ownership related activities
• Contribute to the enhancement of the stress testing role in risk appetite setting and strategic decisions via timely, accurate and easy to explain simulations/forecasts
• Contribute to the growth of stress testing expertise withing the team by hands-on involvement in the topics as well as regular knowledge sharing within the team
• Contribute to other teams within Central Risk

As all the risks are part of the integrated risk view, we have a good overview of the total risk profile of the bank. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and work on one or several products. Your profile

We would like to work with someone who is a team player and who combines good work ethics and results with curiosity and adaptiveness. The future team colleague is willing to challenge the status quo and eager to take action to improve it.
• Education: a Master’s degree preferably in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in financial risk management; exposure on multiple risk types is an advantage
• Proven (senior) experience and solid understanding of stress test models and/or credit risk models and model risk governance
• Affinity with ESG topics in the context of the financial institutions context
• Knowledge of risk regulatory framework (e.g. CRR/CRD, EBA Guidelines on Institutions’ Stress Testing, etc)
• Knowledge of a programming language like SAS (preferred), SQL, Python, R
• Knowledge of a reporting tool like Power BI or Tableau is a plus
• Good communication skills, both oral and written & proven track record of stakeholder management at different levels within an organization or towards the regulatory bodies
• Is able to design and execute quantitative analyses and guide and engage other team members in that task
• Conceptual thinker, able to connect the dots and look at the big picture
• Adaptive, curious, and willing to challenge the status-quo in a healthy and constructive manner
• Takes ownership and makes things happen
• Team player in a multicultural environment (with English being the common language for day to day work and documentation while Dutch is a plus)
