Backend Software Engineer | Java

IM is part of the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) department. Within the ECM domain, client communication of our approx. 6 million clients are streamlined and digitally archived. IM delivers functionalities that are used by departments throughout the whole bank (incl. internationally) while ensuring that it complies with legislations such as the AVG/GDPR.

IM has several exciting and key activities for you to involve in. As a Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to:

Participate in the migration of our components to Azure
Design and develop new backend functionalities for our services
Collaborate with our stakeholders to understand and meet their needs
Communicate and coordinate with different parties across the organization
Write clean, maintainable and scalable code
Mentor less experienced developers
Innovate, experiment and help us adopt new technologies

You will join a scrum team of size 7-10 people that works in an agile environment. We collaborate with an Indian partner company. You will enjoy working with colleagues from India and the Netherlands in an international and multicultural atmosphere.

Required Skills:

• You are proficient in Java 8+ and have IT expertise in areas like Service Oriented Architecture, Microservices, REST APIs, and tools like Azure DevOps, Git, SonarQube and Fortify
• You have extensive experience with database design and Object-Relational Mapping, and can handle complex data models and queries
• You possess strong skills in automation and software testing, and can deliver high-quality and robust software products
• You have experience with cloud-based development, preferably in Azure, and can leverage its features and services to build scalable and secure applications
• You can not only propose and create innovative solutions, but also execute them swiftly and effectively
• You have an exploratory mindset and are enthusiastic about continuous learning and improvement
• You keep up with the newest open source developments in your field of expertise
• An education in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or related fields at HBO/WO level
• Fluent in English
• And of course, mind-blowing foosball or ping pong skills
