Analytics Engineer - Global/US Finance
ABN AMRO Clearing Bank N.V. (AACB) is looking for an Analytics Engineer to join the Global Finance Data Science team. Do you want to be part of a data science team within the financial industry that covers global financial markets in an international environment? Thanks to our global network with offices in eleven countries and proximity to all major exchanges, you will serve the best trading firms on four continents. You will be trained for one year in our Amsterdam HQ after which you will be relocated and stationed in AACB’s second largest office: in the financial center of Chicago, the United States.
As an Analytics engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of data-driven solutions, automation, analytical insights and supporting our organization’s strategic decision-making processes. Your key responsibilities are to provide clean datasets through data modelling, automate workflows, and create reports & insights to empower finance professionals. In your work you will:
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines to efficiently extract, transform and load from various sources into our analytics platform
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, data analysts and finance professionals
• Design and optimize automated processes to streamline data collections, data quality checks and report generation
• Conduct data analyses and visualizations to derive meaningful insights, identify trends and present findings to key stakeholders
• Draft requirements together with finance professionals and translate them into data solutions
The aim is to develop state of the art tech that is scalable in terms of data volume and application purposes and we have supporting infrastructure to do so. With 6.2 billion transaction being cleared annually with peak volumes up to 51 million transactions per day, ABN AMRO Clearing produces a lot of data.
AACB is the cornerstone of global financial markets. As part of our commitment to your professional growth and development, the selected candidate will have a full year of training at our headquarters in Amsterdam. During this year, you will get exposure to our technologies, way of working, the clearing industry and best practices in analytics engineering. You will be working in the Global Finance Data Science team in Amsterdam, which is reporting to the Global CFO, and collaborate closely with regional finance teams and other departments.
After the first year, you will join our second largest office located in Chicago, the United States. This transfer presents a unique chance to work at the financial Centre in Chicago in the regional Finance team of our organization. We understand that relocating can be a significant commitment, and we will provide full assistance and support throughout the transition process to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.
We are looking for the following criteria; we do understand that your skills might differ depending on your working experience:
• 0-3 years of working experience
• MSc or PhD in a STEM field e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering etc.
• Experience with developing data-pipelines
• Experience with programming in Python for doing (statistical) analysis
• Experience in designing queries to access databases with SQL
• Ability to visualize output with graphs and dashboards
• Experience with Dataiku and Tableau is a plus
• Strong interest and motivation to work in the financial markets
• NL based and strong interest in working abroad
