Investment Analyst - Sustainable Impact Fund (Amsterdam)

The ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund ("AA SIF") is an investment fund of ABN AMRO, managed by a dedicated team in ABN AMRO’s Corporate Investments department. The fund, which is solely owned and funded by the bank, is making direct equity investments in growth companies in the following transition sectors:

• Energy Transition;
• Circular Transition; and
• Social Transition.

ABN AMRO has committed a total amount of EUR 500m, and we are looking for an analyst/associate to strengthen the team and to help achieve further growth of the portfolio, especially in the Nordics. AA SIF aims to create both financial returns as well as measurable impact for climate, environment and society; and will report on both.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in sourcing leads, especially in the Nordic regions;
• Analysing investment opportunities, evaluating technical and financial aspects;
• Assisting in transactions, incl. preparing business analyses, financial models and valuations;
• Assisting in development of impact measurement framework & reporting; and
• Assisting in portfolio management.

You will report to Frederik Deutman, within the AA SIF team.

The current team consists of 11 investment professionals, supported by other colleagues. The broader Corporate Investments team consists of approximately 24 colleagues and head office is located in Amsterdam.

The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for sustainability and investing in an international environment, in particular impact investing. He/she has a university degree experience in a relevant field.

• 2 to 4 years working experience in high performance environment
• Intrinsic motivation to tackle global challenges by investing impactful companies;
• Strong analytical skills and good with numbers (Master’s degree in relevant field with above average grades);
• Fluent in English (spoken and written), proficiency in Norwegian, Swedish and / or Danish is considered a plus;
• Attention to detail;
• Team player with strong communication skills and capacity to win support for investment strategies and proposals;
• Cross-cultural sensitivity;
• Clear motivation for working in the Netherlands; and
• Relevant extracurricular activities.
