Are you a professional that can build partnerships, take stakeholders along and create value for clients and ABN AMRO in a (financially) distressed situation? Are you eager to learn further, develop deep understanding and actively share your learnings? Jointly with the SF team and its stakeholders like FR&R and Corporate Investments, structure debt for equity conversions and subsequently actively manage these equity holding in Dutch and international corporates.

Your job

Specialised Finance: i) structuring alternative funding instruments in a distressed debt context (debt to equity swaps and other equity linked instruments) and ii) advising on M&A and strategic related alternatives for FR&R clients. Actively manage the bank's equity holdings within the SF portfolio and as a private equity professional support/challenge management teams in realising the agreed value creation and exit plans.
You are seen as an expert advisor, coach and together with SF seniors you provide guidance related to distressed debt advisory and specialised finance transactions (Debt to Equity).

Working environment

Corporate Investments is the banks ‘centre of expertise’ for private equity investments. Some 20+ fte’s originate, structure, manage and exit the (equity) investments of a.o. the Sustainable Impact Fund and Specialised Finance Fund. SF’s main stakeholder FR&R focuses a.o. on financial restructuring and recovery activities for the bank’s Dutch and international corporate clients. All in all an environment of professionals working with multiple stakeholders (banks, other creditors, advisors, etc.) and multiple legal jurisdictions. The team invests and requires you to contribute to a culture of peer to peer feedback, coaching and training.

Your team Specialized Finance is working to provide value to FR&R as a whole (i.e. European and Dutch large & mid size corporates) and has already proved to be successful in creating value through debt to equity conversions, and created value in M&A related processes You will report to the Head of SF and follow the debt-to-equity swap policy and equity investment governance of Corporate Investments.

Your profile

Knowledge and experience:

• University degree and more than 6-7 years of relevant work experience
• Knowledge and experience with some of the following topics: (private) equity, corporate finance, structured financing skills, a/o (complex) credit structuring
• Deal structuring experience for complex debt and equity products, active management (in deal team and/or with advisors) of your portfolio companies and demonstrable experience in a corporate advisory role
• Fluent in Dutch and English
• Preferably relevant network
