Devops IT Engineer Payment Order Processing Services

At a glance

As an ABN AMRO’s IT Engineer for the POPS team you contribute to the rejuvenation of our payments landscape. You will focus on creating sustainable solutions and have a broad vision on ABN AMRO payments business. You have good understanding of SEPA and Cross border payments. You are part of a multi-disciplinary team of IT Engineers within our Core Transactions grid, to realize goals of your Product Owner and business stakeholders, to build a state of the art new Payment Order Processing Services system. Together with your direct team members and colleagues in other Scrum teams you work together to implement the latest changes in markets standards and regulatory requirements, help executing our IT strategy and continuously improve our payments chain.

Your job

Your job involves a combination of work on functional and technical changes within the POPS team for Payment Order Processing Services. You have a good understanding of payments and what drives the business, the IT infrastructure and innovation. You have earned your stripes in payments and are recognized for your experience and knowledge. As an IT Engineer you are responsible with your team to design, build, test and implement the new POPS system and integrate this in the ABN AMRO payments chain. Experience with as a hands-on IT Developer, a solution designer background will be a big plus.

Working environment

You work in a DevOps team which is responsible for:

• Designing and building a new sustainable Payment Order Processing in the complex payments chain according to the latest IT strategy of the bank
• Supporting the day2day operational activities within the strict service agreements for our customers

Your profile

You enjoy combining think-work with execution. You understand stakeholder's needs and are able to translate these into tangible actions. Client focus is the primary driver for your day to day work. In your development you strive for a T-shaped profile: you can teach others on your expertise (depth) and learn from others theirs (breadth).

Technical skills:

• 5+ years of proven business analysis skills such as requirement gathering, refining complex items and creating stories for Team, stakeholder communication etc.
• Knowledge of and experience with Java, API design, Web services (SOAP/REST) and Azure is preferred.
• Knowledge of and Experience in the following concepts: CICD, DevOps, Agile Scrum

“Soft skills” and personal profile

• You have passion for experimentation and continuous improvement.
• 5+ years of proven analytical abilities,
• You have 5+ years’ experience with working AGILE /Scrum and possess good people skills.
• You have an academic background (or equivalent) and preferably gained experience in payments processes;
• Knowledge of and experience with the following competences and skills: solution design, business analyses, business architecture
• You have a proactive, pragmatic and learning mindset, keen to take up responsibilities and are not afraid to take a stance
• You have worked in a large scale environment with complex setups
• You feel at home in a dynamic environment that is constantly changing and developing.
• Excellent communication skills in English language
