
Portfolio Relationship Manager - Secondment

We would like to inform you of a fantastic secondment opportunity which has arisen to join the Portfolio Relationship Management team in ABF UK (Lease), reporting to Steve Ball, Head of Commercial Support ABF UK.
This is a critical 1st line function that provides vital risk oversight and management of the ABF UK Lease client portfolio.
The secondment will be for 12 months.
Your job
- Perform periodic risk reviews of ABF UK Lease’s obligors and guarantors; assessing their financial and business performance before putting a formal written assessment and recommendation to the 2nd line Credit Risk Management function.- Conduct industry and market analysis to assess the wider risks that may impact our obligor and guarantor credit quality.
- Periodically undertake analysis and spreading of client financial statements in order to generate appropriate internal risk ratings.
- Test obligor and guarantor operating performance against original underwrite and projections, using client generated management information and independent research of key industry metrics.
- Work with RD’s in proposing extensions, modifications and renewals.
- Work directly with clients, brokers and RD’s to obtain all necessary financial statements and transaction information in order to create and analyse funding requests and portfolio risk.
- Track Loan and Lease Agreement Compliance (including financial covenants) ensuring that the UK portfolio is monitored in line with terms of funding and Group Policy
- Support and assist UK team as workload dictates
- Work independently and as part of a deal team as and when required
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned by Head of Commercial Support..

ABN AMRO UK is part of the Corporate Banking business line and operates the following businesses in the UK:
• Corporate and Institutional Banking which includes Corporate Banking, Clearing, Global Markets - Sales & Trading and Financial Institutions
• Commercial Banking which includes Asset Based Finance and International Desk, which provides transactional banking services
Our business lines are supported by a number of functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, IT, Finance (Including Tax), Business Management and Human Resources. We currently employ approx. 380 people in the UK.
Your profile
• Credit and financial analysis experience, ideally in the UK mid to large corporate market.
• Sound understanding of financial statements, key ratios, and fundamental credit risk principles, with a strong analytical mind and an ability and desire to question and interrogate assumptions and data with a view to making a considered, well balanced, and well structured written recommendation to the Credit Risk Management function as to the inherent risks within a client relationship.
• Ability to understand and interpret financial statements, management information (including cashflow analysis and forecasting), and covenant compliance.
• Understanding and experience of general risk management issues and concepts, with an appreciation for the importance of understanding and working to policies and processes.
• Knowledge of lending / asset finance / structured finance / corporate banking market, products and activities.
• Highly motivated and ambitious, with high energy levels and ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
• Ability to work effectively in an environment of regulatory and market change, demonstrating a pro-active approach to managing change.
• Eagerness to learn and self-develop.
• Solution driven, pro-active and with a can-do mentality, with an obvious willingness and drive to improve yourself and your team.
• Good general risk management knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
