We're hiring! Within the Strategy & Innovation department of ABN AMRO we explore and build the future of banking. Do you get excited from corporate innovation? Do you want to use your expertise to help innovation teams design and validate new business concepts? We are looking for an Innovation Consultant (m,f.x) who's keen to make a sustainable contribution to the future of ABN AMRO.

Your job

With your human-centric view and research-driven approach, you are expert at identifying the needs of the client and translating them into new potential business concepts. You are capable of convincing innovation teams of the importance of human-centric design, a data-driven approach and can facilitate and coach them to apply it in a practical way. At the same time, you know how to develop new business concepts and accelerate the work of innovation teams to achieve this. You support innovation teams to take the right steps, set up and facilitate workshops to identify new opportunities and do customer and market research, and iteratively help develop new concepts.

Your key activities will be:
- Guide innovation teams with human centric design
- Facilitate and lead (explore) workshops with bank wide colleagues and (external) experts
- Analysing and interpreting research- and client data, translating them to meaningful insights
- Building our innovation method and helping to develop it further;
- Initiating and maintaining projects and partnerships with different teams and departments within ABN AMRO, clients & partners

Working environment

You will work in the Innovation Process & Design team that empowers innovation teams to generate and execute new business ideas. Innovation Process & Design is part of the department Strategy & Innovation that reports to the CEO. Strategy & Innovation plays a central role in defining and executing ABN AMRO’s (corporate) strategy and related innovation agenda. The department consist of functional units in Strategy, Corporate Development, Venturing, Group Economics and Innovation.

Your profile

  • You have a research mindset, looking for facts and creative ways to gather client- and market data to gain new insights
  • You have experience with, and knowledge of, Design Thinking, Agile and Lean-Startup; You understand the differences and similarities between them and can apply them;
  • You have a clear strategic approach and an eye for practicalities;
  • You have an affinity with the financial sector and are interested in the future of banking;
  • You know your way around the design world and have the skills to rapidly and effectively visualise ideas, presentations or other documents;
  • You have a creative and strategic approach to problem-solving and are completely at home in the 'fuzzy front-end of innovation'.
  • You identify opportunities and pro-actively set up projects and engage stakeholders and teams.

Key words that characterise you are problem-solving, future-orientated, optimistic, independent and teamwork-focused.
