The ABN AMRO Clearing (AAC) Market Risk Management department, monitors, analyses and manages market risk of AAC. Market risk arises from the fact that AAC guarantees, as a General Clearing Member, the fulfilment of obligations towards the clearinghouses and other counter parties arising from clients’ derivatives and securities transactions.
AAC Market Risk Management department promotes a culture of risk awareness within the company in order to achieve sustainable and profitable growth while building and keeping trust and confidence of all stakeholders (regulators, clients and shareholders).
Your job
- Analyses the risks of clients' positions and clients' trading strategies
- Monitor client’s risks controls on overnight and intraday basis and ensure clients take mitigating measures to stay within the risk limits
- Identifies and analyses the consequences of (possible) market developments for client positions and assesses the risks of these
- Stimulates the integration of risk models and risk awareness and risk controls within the company
- Analyses market moves and market behaviour to continually improve and enhance the risk framework
- Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of the risk framework
- Keep up with developments in financial markets and in market risk management
Working environment
- ABN AMRO Clearing Bank NV has roughly 1000 FTE globally and is self-sufficient with its own supporting organization. Services that AAC provides include Financing, Direct Market Access, Clearing, Custody and post trade services, etc. All clients of AAC are professional market participants
- Client segments include Professional Trading Groups, Market Makers, Asset Managers and Commodity Hedgers
- AAC Risk Management has a global focus. It is divided into three regional organizations next to the global risk functions: Europe, USA and Asia-Pacific
- AAC Risk Management has to perform market surveillance and ensure all market, credit and enterprise risks are managed and compliant with global regulations and the risk appetite of AAC
Your profile
- Strong interest/ affinity and knowledge in financial markets, trading and risk management.
- Strong analytical skills and expert proficiency in Python, VBA or R
- Good understanding of financial products: stocks, bonds futures, options and other derivatives/securities
- 0-3 years of experience in the financial industry
- Good and clear communication: phone, mail/written and in person
- Attention to detail and a well-structured mind
- Eager and quick to learn on the job: hands on approach
- Team player and collaborator
- Mindset to learn, develop and be challenged
- Motivated and driven to perform for yourself and for the team
- Bring confidence, positivity and an enthusiastic nature to your role
- Willingness to start to take ownership and responsibility
We are offering
- Based on your experience, knowledge and skills, we offer ABN AMRO Clearing Bank employment in scale 8, 9 or 10 with a gross annual salary in the range of EUR 46.000 – EUR 85,000 (incl. holiday allowance and 11% benefit budget based on 40 hours a week).
